Billy Dane Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Very sad to hear that Brian has passed on. Always remember him as a busy little player.
meredithmathieson Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 And a very nice guy also. He was instrumental in arranging for my Dad's ashes to be spread at Anfield, for which I will be eternally grateful. R.I.P.
anfieldgaz Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Rip. Ynwa. Very sad. Had the privilege to meet him a few years back.
£440,000 Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 RIP. A name that will forever be associated with the Shankly era. I was eight when he left the club so don't remember much of him as a player. Remember him more from sticker albums. Think I sat behind him at the match once. Got to love players who are also fans. That photo of him is great.
DJS Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Really sad, I never saw him play, way before my time. But saw and spoke to him several times in the Main Stand car park before games and he was always so friendly, so warm and just a lovely man. Nothing was ever too much trouble and every time he signed an autograph, posed for a picture or just chatted, he was incredibly genuine & always had time. Such a gentleman.
downunder Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 He started a lot of the good community work the club still does, a really nice guy. RIP Brian
Gravy Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 f*** that is awful. Really nice guy., I knew him really well but lost touch the last few years. He was poorly I knew but but yes, a lovely guy. Very sad news

New York Red Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Oh man, that is terrible news. One of the first players to get a degree too. A top guy. RIP Brian.
Bootle Buck Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 A Magnicent fella. So sad see him gone so young. RIP Bamba a Kop Legend and a one of my heroes.
Murphman Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Gravy, me and our boys went to a Pompey match, Gravy had spoken with Brian and he got us into the players lounge after the game. It was a great experience obviously particularly because the kids were so young but from that special day meeting Brian stands out in my memories of it. I told him 'the last time I saw you Brian was Wembley in '74', he beamed at the memory. RIP, a true gent, a very bright man and a hugely underrated footballer.
Leo No.8 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 My dad went to school with him, very sad - always seemed a nice guy. 68 isn't any great age these days either. RIP Brian.
oakie bob Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Had the privilege to meet him once, the stories he told about shanks where amazing, RIP
AE Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Just got the news by reading this. Gutted. Meet him once, on the pitch at Anfield during a stadium tour. He just happen to be there and was so friendly to us. Lovely man. RIP
