and in terms of this squad the only one i can think of who is his club captain off the top of my head is lallana.

no, most others seem to pass it around quite a bit and have several captains.

It wasn't exciting. Russia played better marginally but lacked quality.

It would be really wise to demystify it and just say it will be the most capped player picked until further notice. There just isn't an undroppable player beyond the keeper, and that's not a bad place to be
