richwilks Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 The right decision Yep, be good for Rodgers to see how s*** he is before deciding to sell.
Kahnee Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 "kick-start" implies his career at LFC actually started at some point
McBain Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Yep, be good for Rodgers to see how s*** he is before deciding to sell. The boy can play, and more importantly can play in the style Rodgers will no doubt be trying to implement. I reckon he'll still be here on Sep 1st
matty Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 "kick-start" implies his career at LFC actually started at some pointOr Peter Purves will stand watching him fall over a six inch muddy bump repeatedly until he walks off crying.
Cobs Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 So are we saying he's still like really fat or as Rodgers is bringing him back are we calling this a masterstroke?
Hassony Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 The boy can play, and more importantly can play in the style Rodgers will no doubt be trying to implement. I reckon he'll still be here on Sep 1st that's because no one will match his massive wages
cymrococh Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 So are we saying he's still like really fat or as Rodgers is bringing him back are we calling this a masterstroke? That depends, all the Rafalites think he's a fat waste of money while us Rodgersians think this will be like a new signing.
richwilks Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 That depends, all the Rafalites think he's a fat waste of money while us Rodgersians think this will be like a new signing. I'm a Hodgsonite and think he'll be fat and fantastic.
David Hodgson Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 I'm all for giving him a second go. I don't think there's much to lose as no one's going to pay the bulk of his wages anyway. He wasn't a crap player when we bought him, but all the fat jokes aside, he didn't settle, and looked a yard short. He clearly had a good year at Lille which means that there's a possibility he's got mojo and yard back (he was injured for a while we should remember, I s'pose). If he's sh*t, he's sh*t, and he gets dropped and moved on at Xmas, like a porky unwanted dog.
Bailo Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I'm a Rafalite and I don't see the harm in giving him a go. The fat stuff was incredibly boring, as it was with Dossena, Adam etc.

Personally, if we can get someone to pay half his wages, and use that money saved to bring in a bit of young potential, I'd prefer that. I didn't want him two years ago, I don't want him now. He adds a number to the squad, not sure he can add anythign else

Looked good pre-season (Europa games) then got a shocker from Atkinson on debut and by the time he came back we were in a Hodge World of Schite and he never got going again. Not rating the quality of the french league by 9 in 42 is a decent return from midfield and as we are desperate for goals from somewhere he should be a decent squad option
blago Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I can't see him making much of an impression, either as a wide forward in Rodgers system or as an attacking midfielder. If he stays around for next season I can see him being used sparringly as a substitute towards the end of games.
Cobs Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Agree with this. you'll be into him within a fortnight !
stressederic Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 His time playing pretty much every week at Lille may well have helped his match fitness.

The Hitman Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 The Rodge went cycling with Kenny? Where did they go?
