If only there was a thread with loads of opinions already posted that would indicate this.....and if such a thread existed, then you could edit the very first post in that thread, using the full editor, and click the 'Manage Topic Poll' button and add a poll to that thread.

But, as I said, if only there was one......

Tbf Nathan, I don't think a separate poll topic where people just state how they voted is such a bad idea.

Unhappy.

Odd question... does it presume we'd be sad to see to Rafa go and wish that he was succeeding? Does it imply that O'Neill would get money?

If Rafa was to go I think O'Neill would be a very good replacement... if he was starting the job on equal terms. If he, or anyone (even my favourite fo the post - Mourinho), was to come in and be told "there's no money... and you've to sell Torres or Gerrard" then feck all will improve. If we're destined for a slump then that's G&H's fault and nothing to do with any manager. In fact, Andy, if it happens then blaming O'Neill for it would just deflect from G&H.

To slightly paraphrase Andy from another thread "we're probably fecked if Rafa leaves... hell, we're possibly fecked if he stays".

Do I want Rafa to go for on-pitch reasons? Yes. Do I want him to go given our off-pitch problems? No, he's providing stability and I don't believe G&H and Purslow know a thing about football - they're not going to get the right man in. And if they fluke a choice and we get the prefect man in they'll feck it up by not supporting him.

But, under ideal terms (new oweners) and if Rafa had decided to go... then yeah, I'd be more than content with him.

Theres a few people talking about this, I hope its just bulls*** thats got a bit out of hand.

I dont want him at all. I dont like him. I dont like his football (though I dont care about style of football, its a result business, but as I dont like him im going to use it against him), I dont like his tactics like "Ooo we're losing, lets take off a full back and put a midfielder at full back, that'll solve it" or how unfit his team appears at the end of the season. I dont think the players would respond to him at all. I dont like his celebration, he looks like a prick. And finally while we're probably the most supportive set of fans ive ever seen regarding managers I think people would quickly lose patience with him as he wont be wanted in the first place.

Doomsday appointment for me.

Beyond unhappy, as I just couldn't support him.

which is an utterly ridiculous stance to take - on any appointment

you can join Andy at Goodison

Not a chance that MON will be our manager next season.

None, zero, nada.

So the poll is useless. :bleh:

And come September one can come back to my post and see if I was right.

Anyone who voted Very Happy is either N.Irish or mental. (or trying to wind-up andy)

I hate the c***, he's not one of us.

I'll boo him out the door as soon as he arrives.

Pretty much all of my fellow countrymen that I've spoken to think he's painfully average and a long ball merchant. Not a single one rates him.

I don't either. I'd be genuinely upset if we appointed him.

No it isn't. What if they appointed Fat Sam? Or Bryan Robson? There are loads of people I could name that I could not support or defend as Liverpool manager, it's the "If hes our manager i will support him." stance I find weird.

It's more than just an unsavoury player pulling on our shirt like Ince or Dicks, you can convince yourself to lose them in the crowd of the squad / team, we've always had a special relationship with our manager.

Personally, I don't really have much against him as a man, other than making a t*t of himself over the Barry saga, but that's a minor point, I just think he is a slightly above average manager* that produces slightly above average teams, and I don't see how that qualifies him to be manager of Liverpool and it would be a massive step down on what we have.

*average is Alladyce, Redknapp, Bruce, Hughes,

Let's get rid of one of the top 5 managers in the world and bring in someone who's had success with Celtic in a s*** league, Leicester and the mighty Wycombe.

VERY UNHAPPY

Its okay to say you are unhappy but another to articulate why, (everything is relative). From where I stand maybe he's not a manager I personally would choose to replace Benitez but he doesn't deserve such outright dare I say knee jerk rejection. Some of the root cause is probably down to the spat with Benitez last season but then again he's not the only manager to have had problems with the conduct of our manager is he. As for his managerial record I think its fair to say he hasn't done badly wherever he;s been. Leicester, Celtic and Villa. At Leicester and to an extent Villa his teams are always well organised competitive and difficult to break down if lacking a certain amount of flair. Don't know much about Celtic but given their current state the O'Neil era the title wins and their relative success against some CL opponents would indicate he was pretty effective there too

Can we get away from an automatic assumption that unless someone has won X cups or league titles they are s*** otherwise we just end up recycling the same old names and the same ideas
