Guest PaulMcC Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Anyone else think Torres is a bit heavier now than he was then?
YNWAdownunder Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Anyone else think Torres is a bit heavier now than he was then? maybe something to do with him getting kicked and molested every week -- maybe decided to hit the gym
Ronnie Whelan Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Anyone else think Torres is a bit heavier now than he was then? Wash your mouth out Blasphemer.
Sion Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Torres v Blackburn should be number 1 if it's based on pure skill.
Bo Benn Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 The Gerrard one vs Boro is my favourite of recent. You're not supposed to f***ing shoot from there!!
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Cant watch YouTube in work, where does Gerrard vs Marseille come ? There are some similarities with that goal and the one Torres scored. Both were outrageous, both shots were taken from the same angle i.e. addressing the ball whilst facing towards the corner flag (generally) but then manouvering your body to get a shot away in the opposite direction. Both ended up in the opposite corner of the net. Torres's was a volley but Gerrard's was further out. Conclusion: Both are fooken brilliant players. That is all.
Des Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Anyone else think Torres is a bit heavier now than he was then? Ace. Something to hold onto.
whitewidow Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 No.27 - Garcia v Anderlecht - how good was that away strip?
Raj Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 No.27 - Garcia v Anderlecht - how good was that away strip? It was the EC Champions Edition shirt wasnt it? Special strip that they made
Andy @ Allerton Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Best Goals under Rafa (Counting down) Part 1 - #30 - #16http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kEJgAXkvyE Part 2 - #15 - #1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqGbHo0DrQ4...feature=related Cheers for posting that matey. Really enjoyed em
allawee Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Arguably he will never be classed in the same league as Rivaldo, Zidane, or even Bergkamp by some punters (not by me!), but I can't think of a modern footballer who has more spectacular goals, or more influencing goals than Gerrard! we are so lucky to have him and once he hangs his boots, we will sorely miss him!
Jarg Armani Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Arguably he will never be classed in the same league as Rivaldo, Zidane, or even Bergkamp by some punters (not by me!), but I can't think of a modern footballer who has more spectacular goals, or more influencing goals than Gerrard! we are so lucky to have him and once he hangs his boots, we will sorely miss him! He'll never be a true great unless he starts playing like that for England.
Coyler Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 The whole idea of him and what he keeps doing is just ridiculous.
Barnesy_10 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 It was the EC Champions Edition shirt wasnt it? Special strip that they madeyeah, they were used in Europe the season after Istanbul. Managed to grab one with Carragher on the back.... love that strip.
Hassony Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Arguably he will never be classed in the same league as Rivaldo, Zidane, or even Bergkamp by some punters (not by me!), but I can't think of a modern footballer who has more spectacular goals, or more influencing goals than Gerrard! we are so lucky to have him and once he hangs his boots, we will sorely miss him! Zidane, De rossi, Totti and many of the managers and players we have played in europe have said how Gerrard is the best midfielder in the world he is no Lampard though
Nebraska Red Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 so many of those clips show me how much we miss Garcia. he was a cracking little player.
stressederic Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I could watch Luis Garcia's goal against Juventus all day.
richwilks Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 so many of those clips show me how much we miss Garcia. he was a cracking little player. Garcia looks amazing on those clips. Truth is though, he was so frustrating most of the time. We do miss that type of player though. As for Gerrard, he's as close to Roy of the Rovers as any player has ever been. Some of the strikes in those clips we're incredible. That FA Cup final goal was insane, how can you hit the ball that hard and that accurately from that distance. Torres vs Blackburn was incredible as well, a real goal out of nothing and I'm sure you could chuck the ball upto him another 100 times and he couldn't do it again. I loved the way Carra celebrated like he's scored the goal for providing the pass at the time, it was nothing more than a lump directed in the right area!!
alli Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 how good would Kewell be in our system today though ?on either flank or behind torres if gerrard is out or in midfield.that goal against everton where he gets the ball, turns around and just volleys it into the far corner, brilliant!
_00_deathscar Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 how good would Kewell be in our system today though ? Depends on which Kewell doesn't it? If you mean the post-December 2004 Liverpool version, then Riera would be better. If you mean the Leeds + August - December 2004 Liverpool version, then Kewell.

If you mean the Leeds + August - December 2004 Liverpool version, then Kewell. of course i'm talking about the Leeds and early Liverpool Kewell
Mike Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 ive always maintained that kewell was a far better player for us than many give him credit for, especially the arl a*** supporters.
Raj Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 ive always maintained that kewell was a far better player for us than many give him credit for, especially the arl a*** supporters. I thought he did pretty well during the 05/06 season too.
SkippyjonJones Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 ive always maintained that kewell was a far better player for us than many give him credit for, especially the arl a*** supporters. he was never consistent enough. should never have had him in the club.
