Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Would you? Carlos Tevez has decided that it will be the "best solution" to leave Manchester United after reluctantly accepting that Sir Alex Ferguson wants to persist with Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney as his preferred strike partnership. Tevez, who started on the bench against Portsmouth, has attracted offers from Real Madrid and Internazionale but the Argentina forward also said he would consider signing for another English club. dunno whether I'd like us to sign him
Tosh Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 He wants to play a load more games Rafa would rotate him, no?
Swipe Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 He's been really average this season. In previous years he's looked the business, but he's been like a a headless chicken this season. He does have talent, but he's not really the type of player we need. And he ain't worth anything close to £30m

Swipe Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Berbatov is a lazy c*** though. He was at Spurs and if anything he looks worse at United.
Bailo Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Yes. Get him in. I'm not sure what he'd cost, but I'm not sure who we could do "better" with, without buying an out-and-out striker like Eto'o, who I can see being Keane-esque.
Raj Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Yes. Get him in. I'm not sure what he'd cost, but I'm not sure who we could do "better" with, without buying an out-and-out striker like Eto'o, who I can see being Keane-esque. Jesus!!! Are you sure! Eto'o would be an amazing signing.
Bailo Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Jesus!!! Are you sure! Eto'o would be an amazing signing. But he's an out-and-out striker. Not a "behind-the-hole" striker, or a creator, or anything. A poacher. It means breaking the Gerrard-Torres partnership or shifting him out wide. Tevez is a far more versatile player in any of the positions around the front 1, and can lead the line if Torres is out/rested.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 Tevez won't cost anything like 30m now. 18 or so
Bailo Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Tevez won't cost anything like 30m now. 18 or soGet. Him. In. Now. Rafa.
Barnesy_10 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Get. Him. In. Now. Rafa.the Mancs would hate it if he came to us... much like the Heinze situation... There must be something about Argentinians.. I bet Masch could have a sneaky word, but something tells me that Tevez would bite our hands off to join us if we did go for him.

He has done on several occasions for Barcelona, although his main position is as a No 9. I have no issue with signing Tevez, who would be a very good signing too, but to compare Eto'o to a Keane-esque signing is, imo, wrong.
Sion Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Manc fans love Tevez. We should sign him just to piss them off.

The problem with Keane is that he wasn't good enough for us, eto is on a different level to him (or Tevez for that matter)
sean Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Works hard, returns are decent but very top quality? I don't think so.
carrafan Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) Jesus!!! Are you sure! Eto'o would be an amazing signing. True. But if he's not available or doesnt want to come to the northwest of England, then Tevez would be more than just a handy buy. ----- The thing with transfers is that sometimes it comes down to whose available. Rafa himself might have his wishlist but if we cant afford them, just having a wishlist of top players wont do it. Edited April 23, 2009 by carrafan
richwilks Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Tevez won't cost anything like 30m now. 18 or so In which case Utd will sign him I guess. Think he'd be a great buy personally. Really like his attitude, work rate and ability. Get him in if he's under £20m.
carrafan Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 In which case Utd will sign him I guess. I cant see it. I think Rooney and Tevez are too similar and playing them both hampers the other. They've brought those two Serbian wingers for 16 million and imo will spend money close season on a keeper, a right back and a midfielder. Even if Ronalda leaves, i cant see them keep Tevez. I could be wrong though, Ferguson knows what he's doing on most occasions.
Woodsyla Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I cant see it. I think Rooney and Tevez are too similar and playing them both hampers the other. Really, that 4-6-0 that swept all comers aside last season played some of the best football I've seen in a long time. I've no idea why Ferguson signed Berbatov, all I can think is he knows Ronaldo is off shortly.
stressederic Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Would you? I wouldn't sleep with him, no. And I'd rather we signed Eto'o
Sion Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 In which case Utd will sign him I guess. It's more a case of Tevez doesn't want to sign for untied than they don't want to pay the price. Though it's probably a bit of the two.
Andy @ Allerton Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I think we've already got better at the club than Tevez. Plus he's stupidly overpriced. We could buy two quality players for that.
