Gravy Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Was he injured Saturday or rested? Bloody hope he's okay for tomorrow.
Chili Palmer Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Was he injured Saturday or rested? Bloody hope he's okay for tomorrow. I think he was just rested
Flasher Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Good shout for centre mid in the absence of Mascherano (in my eyes anyway).
Bogman Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Good shout for centre mid in the absence of Mascherano (in my eyes anyway). Nah, t'will be love child of Bellamy.
Boca Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Good shout for centre mid in the absence of Mascherano (in my eyes anyway). Doubtful because Insua isn't in the squad. Can't see Rafa risking Dossena there.
fred milne Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Good shout for centre mid in the absence of Mascherano (in my eyes anyway).Aurelio in place of Xabi I can understand, alongside Xabi I'm not so sure. Personally, I think we should trust in Lucas and stick with the formation that has served us so well but I've got a feeling Rafa will push Gerrard back into midfield and play Yossi on the right with Kuyt off Torres.
CarraLegend Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I have a feeling Lucas will score tommorow. Ive got that vibe to, he often gets on the end of crosses so he's gonna bang in a header at the kop end and make street dog cry. Again!
carrafan Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I have a feeling Lucas will score tommorow. Good on ya.. but what about the game?
Clay Davis Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 (edited) Ive got that vibe to, he often gets on the end of crosses so he's gonna bang in a header at the kop end and make street dog cry. Again! He's class at getting in space and good positions but his finishing/heading is woeful. If he can improve that he would get more goals than Alonso from that position, definitely. He's improving, but I still think he's only ever going to be a decent player. Edited April 8, 2009 by calamitymaud

sutty Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Good shout for centre mid in the absence of Mascherano (in my eyes anyway). I'm contemplating making this sort of idiocy a bannable offence
Stevie H Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I'd start Lucas.of course. i hope to f*** that fred milne's hunch is wrong. lucas alongside alonso with gerrard in front is just fine for this one. chelsea have a debate about who to play from four mids, and i think they'll go with mikel, lampard and essien. in fact whoever they have in defensive mid we should be optimistic about putting gerrard up against them.
Jarg Armani Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Fred Milne has Agger in his likely starting lineup every week though. Lad knows what he's talking about for the most part but picking the team is not his forte. As for the Lucas thing, I said exactly the same before Fulham: He's a safe pair of hands, he's in good form, Benitez trusts him, it's a no brainer. Essien is, as ever, a massive worry. Not bothered about anyone else unless Drogba has his game face on. Even then i'd back us to deal with him.
Stevie H Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 i've a hunch that hiddink might play essien holding. two reasons, one that gerrard tore mikel a new one last time out and two that he might want to shoehorn ballack into the lineup for his experience. essien playing deeper would be preferable to him marauding about in our half. drogba's the big one, yeah. bosingwa's out as well so we should really be looking to get down that left and at ivanovic who is well out of position at right back.
Boca Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 for what we paid for him, and as a fourth choice midfielder, we cant really ask for much more We paid £6m for him.
Falconhoof Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 We paid £6m for him. £12 million cheaper than Anderson then. Not too bad.
Walrus Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Was he injured Saturday or rested? Bloody hope he's okay for tomorrow. he was s**** tonight
Chili Palmer Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 he was s**** tonight yep, as bad a game from him as I can remember.
Jim D Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 he was s**** tonight Seems a lack of games recently has caught up with him, I'd be tempted to slot Insua back in and perhaps play Aurelio at Left Midfield?
CarraLegend Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Gedo said he was an injury doubt on Friday and he played like it, probably his only bad game this season.
MFletcher Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 He was caught on the ball a couple of times and his delivery was very poor. He usually steps up big time for these sort of matches as well.
