Liverpool have scored 10 goals this season in the Premier League.

9 of those have come in the second half of games.

The only person to score for the Reds in the first half of a game...

It's not interesting in the slightest.

I know there have been rumblings in past seasons about how hard Pako worked them and there was a suggestion that although it paid dividends later in the season (hence strong finishes) that in the short term everyone was knackered (hence slowish starts).

Not saying that it is true (and we were unbeaten for a long time last year too even though Pako did the pre-season) but just something I've wondered about (i.e. whether our ability to win games late on at this stage of the season is a symptom of being slightly fresher than in the past).

the times said today that we would be 16th if the games ended at HT

but they dont

so whats the f***ing point

f*** off

did the times say how high we would be if games started at HT?

you wonder why editors allow their writers to put such rubbish in print.

those comments only make them look even more stupid than they really are.

stupid is as stupid does, I suppose.

16th at Half Time..........if the games started at Half Time we would be 1st with 17pts and we've gained 9pts from losing positions. Stats eh? ;)

Aye the link (in the Alonso thread I think) pointed to the "half time" tables on s*y sports.

If games finished a few seconds before we scored our first goal we'd be bottom of the league now.

I just love the way the media/pundits/sky can twist anything to sound bad.

The reason we have half-time at all is so that teams could change the rules; hence first-half would be played by Westminster's rules and the second by Rugby's.

I've sussed it out.

it's the job of the starting 11 to hold the opposition until Rafa can make the subs in the second half so we can win.

more likely we've now evolved to a stage where we can play one side to our game, find it fail thn try game b or c and ultimately find victory. we're now at a point where we can bring a number of players off of the bench and create match winning goals. thats a tad f***ing awesome and the gaffer needs some serious respect there. it is a genuinely interesting stat. i heard the other day now rafa has 50 matches were second half subs have scored match winners. canny grumble with that.

theres almost something in that tho. play the best team from training and then when the gaffer spots the weakness go for it. hes now got a squad with which he is capable of chucking on a number of match winning options and changing things quite dramatically in the top two thirds.

Is there a league that points out where the mancs would be without the combination of Ronaldo and dodgy refereeing decisions?
