a good or bad thing? good for getting more fans singing and creating a better atmosphere at run of the mill games, or bad because it may create a "them and us" feeling in the kop, and simply split our support?

to me, its almost as cheesy as having a bloke with a megaphone down the front trying to lead a sing song. The Kop became famous for its wit and spontaneity, and it mightlose some of that, because i cant help feeling hat the 1892 block will be filled with wannabe superfan plebs.

Bad. Does it make them "better" fans than everyone else?

As you say Wayne, its much like having a bellend at the front with a drum etc.

See also RTK.

I think it will be full of those people who feel they need to face the crowd with their arms out to sing, rather than watching the bloody game.

Where is the 1892 block in the Kop Anyway?

And yeah I can imagine all of them turning around and screaming at the back end....

To me, and it's just my opinion, it's practically saying, yeah hardly anyone sings at games, except for us 1800, we're all boss and therefore better fans, sit us all together so we can all sing together and make Anfield better, cos we're so boss, and you're all passionless losers who don't respect the values of anfield - I read one post where they sounded like a bunch of facists! saying how Liverpool should be the superior supporting race in the World and at the the moment we're a bunch of t***s who aren't special enough, give me a f***ing break.

I'm sure they'll say otherwise, but that's how it seems to me.

This whole RTK/1892 block is a load of b******s, followed by what must be a big % of delluded wools who somehow think Anfield was a cauldron of noise back in the 1970/80's where every fan was full of passion and there were no d****eads. The truth is because the team were so good, atmospheres were often worse as we just expected to steamroll teams, and got annoyed if we didn't.

No doubt well intentioned at heart, but that doesn't stop it being a crap idea and a hamfisted attempt on the part of the club to show that they are on the same wavelength as the fans - a bit like a s*** teacher trying to be mates with their pupils.

As others have asked, where is it goiung to be? And is it starting on Sunday?

Well said [bold bit]. I've tried to hammer this home many times but it's pointless. History has already been rewritten on this one. The Kop was a cauldron every game whether you and I know different or not!!

As for the 1892/RTK, If it works as the founders intend it to then fair play but preventing it from being hijacked by the look at me mee mee brigade is going to be a tall order. Good luck to them though as I certainly do think the intentions are genuinely felt. And if it does at least manage to drown out the likes of the Portsmouth guy with the blue hair and tatoos and other anny road fans like him or provide some noise against Fulham then some good will have come out of it.

Good if it gets more singing going, which seems very likely

Not sure how it can be seen as divisive really - we're not going to be sat in there wearing t-shirts proclaiming we are part of the 1892 mob or anything.

It's in a not great position - back of the Kop where the Adult/Child section used to be. And as it is a STH area of course it starts on Sunday...

All A&C tickets have been allocated to the Upper Anfield Road. There will still be some S/T A&C in the Kop as they did not want to move position.

Think mates should be able to get seats together in groups, dunno why these 1892 guys are so special.

That was the whole point of the 1892 block... so mates could get seats together.

ANYONE could apply, and you could put your apps in with your mates to get seats together. It's not that the "1892 guys are so special"... it was open to all ST holders. It's not some kind of secret club with funny handshakes and all that.

Will... who has been 'outed' applied to move to that block. I applied with a our lot... and we've got our seats together.

In The Main Stand I didn't sing that much as I feel a bit of a t*** singing on my own not knowing if anyone will join in. Now I'm together with my mates I know we'll all join in, which will help the atmosphere in some small way. Multiply that effect by however many groups of mates are now together and it should be an improvement.

Good.

"Oh sing you bas*tards, sing!" - how divisive is that?

if it starts down that route then it will be a bad thing as those not in the section will feel like they are being looked down upon.

If on the otherhand all they do is get together and start some traditional songs going then where's the harm? i didn't move there, but I've nothing against any group that tries to make things better. If they fall on their a*** so what? At least they'll have tried.

Give it a chance, if its divisive it will die out anyway.

We'll see how he gets on when trying to take photos pre-match when he should be singing.....

good. i'm sick of people in the kop who sit like silent statues all game. if you want to do that, then there are 3 other stands for you to sit. leave the kop for the poeple who want to try an influence the result by giving the lads all the support they need.
