Benitez Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I'll start According to skyspurts, Spurs are set to sign Younes Kaboul for £8.2m ( ) from Auxerre. Lets hope for their sake he's better than a certain other ex Auxerre central defender. Spurs nearing Kaboul deal Auxerre defender Younes Kaboul is being tipped to join Tottenham within the next week, according to sources in France. Spurs have long been linked with a bid for the talented stopper and reports claim Martin Jol could land his man as early as Sunday. Auxerre complete their Ligue 1 campaign at Valenciennes this weekend and following the game Kaboul is tipped to wrap up his move to White Hart Lane. Kaboul has impressed greatly for AJA this season, playing a prominent role in defence and also chipping in with a couple of goals. Tottenham director of sports Damien Comolli is a huge admirer of the Frenchman and is believed to be ready to pay in the region of ?12million (£8.2million). Spurs scouts have been sent to the Stade Abbe-Deschamps a number of times over the past months to track Kaboul and Bakari Sagna. While Sagna has been told he will not be allowed to leave, Kaboul is set to sign a four-year contract with Tottenham. Lyon and Fiorentina were also keen, but the 21-year-old looks to have chosen the ambitious North London club, who will be playing in the Uefa Cup again next season.

Gomez Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 wn@ker replaced by a cn*t [may be a romario but i couldn't see it elsewhere] Some people just don't f**king learn do they? Same old faces on the old boys network, a trail of failure behind them and there is still some muppet willing to throw money at them just because they've heard of their name. Really don't understand why abject failures (how many relegations?) like robson get job after job and Roy Evans never got a chance after leaving us.

Guest Linton Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Chavs have signed Sidwell OH.MY.GOD. WE WILL NEVER CATCH UP WITH THEM AFTER THIS! SACK PARRY!
Benitez Posted May 22, 2007 Author Posted May 22, 2007 not transfer news as such, but I did laugh when I saw this headline: "Spurs slap £15million price tag on Jenas"

Alonso Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 I've heard that if Bale is gonna move then it'll be to Spurs and not Man Utd.
Leo No.8 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Some people just don't f**king learn do they? Really don't understand why abject failures (how many relegations?) like robson get job after job and Roy Evans never got a chance after leaving us. Unbelievable isn't it? It's hardly surprising he keeps failing as well - Robbo has the charisma of a wet fish. I can't imagine him inspiring me to better things with a great team talk, he comes across as a manic depressive and speaks in that awful monotone voice...
Swagger Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Unbelievable isn't it? Really is. How many times does he has to fail before clubs realise that he is just not good enough? Granted, he was good player, he captained his country, but as a manager he has failed time and time again. Some people just never learn FFS. Chavs have signed Sidwell He wont learn either. Hey Sidwell, are you familiar with a certain Scott Parker? Or a certain SWP? Of course in your case it will be a lot different, especially since you are only competing for a place with Lampard, Essien, Mikel, Makelele and Ballack.

Benitez Posted May 23, 2007 Author Posted May 23, 2007 another big spending summer on the way for Spurs then. Wonder if Jol can take 'em on to the next level. I think the pressure will be on him next season. He's had a good couple seasons of bringing stability to the club and has done that very well. But last summer and this, they are really splashing the cash, and I guess the idea and expectation is to push for the CL places from now on.
Sion Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 £8-10m is the likely fee - on a 17 year old left back who has yet to convince me he's anything special. Other than being decent at set pieces I don't get the hype. Crazy fee, crazy.
floyd Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Spuds agree fee according to SSNBut the press told us he was going to the Mancs...
charlie clown Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 not transfer news as such, but I did laugh when I saw this headline: "Spurs slap £15million price tag on Jenas" that's raised the barcodes' interest straight away.
Guest JV Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Southampton has now denied it. Sounds familiar this. Distan has gone to pompey as expected.
stressederic Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 that's raised the barcodes' interest straight away. I reckon there's an alarm, or a black and white striped phone in Freddy Shephards office that goes off as soon as any player is given a price over £10m
pipnasty Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I reckon there's an alarm, or a black and white striped phone in Freddy Shephards office that goes off as soon as any player is given a price over £10m He'll be putting a late bid in for Owen once he hears the Mancs are in for him too. That would be press conference and a half

Yeah, they will be expected to crack the top four after this summer. Hard to see it happening for them though. Decent side. Berbatov has been immense this season, bar Drogba possibly the best striker on show. Despite having about 100 midfielders, I still see that as their weakest area, particularly in relation to the top four teams.
Gomez Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 He wont learn either. Hey Sidwell, are you familiar with a certain Scott Parker? Or a certain SWP? Of course in your case it will be a lot different, especially since you are only competing for a place with Lampard, Essien, Mikel, Makelele and Ballack. He must know he is going there to play 4 or 5 games in January when Essien and Mikel are on holiday African Nations duty. Even then he will be behind Fatboy, Makelele and ballack.
carrafan Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Makelele's off to Villareal most probably, but your point still holds.
Gomez Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Southampton has now denied it. Sounds familiar this. SSN saying Bale completed his medical at spurs
Logic Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Hreiðarsson signed for Portsmouth. If you can get good odds on them being relegated in the next two years put some money on it. I think every team he has played with has been relegated.
Stevie H Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 £8-10m is the likely fee - on a 17 year old left back who has yet to convince me he's anything special. Other than being decent at set pieces I don't get the hype. Crazy fee, crazy.it's silly money yes, but bale's excellent.
