To me, implies having a the ability to use an alternative system from how we played this season

Maybe more aggressive use of fullbacks, with maybe a midfielder dropping deeper to help out the CBs. Kind of fits with the "play the game in the opposition's half" thing that someone quoted on here the other day

I don’t know why you are overcomplicating it.

The Jeremie Frimpong that goes out with Lindsay Lohan replaces Trent and the one that goes out with the twin will back up Salah.

We're better than City. We should buy Wirtz.

Left ourselves too much to do, though. Nunez is a huge setback, having to replace your £80M striker with another player that'll likely cost even more leaves a big hole in the budget and kind of rules out doing ambitious things elsewhere

Buy him instead of centre forward. Probably far harder to find a real centre forward.

We'll get at least £60m for Nunez too

Just hurry up Xabi you c***

Think that one is probably gone tbh. Seems as soon as the Alonso-to-Madrid wheels started turning, the was a build-up of noises from Madrid that they will cough up for the player after all. Guessing Alonso has said to Perez that he wants Huijsen/a ball-playing CB and that's lit a fire under them.

Wirtz has got 34 goals and 33 assists in the last two seasons. Obviously Bundesliga isn't as good as England but we're a lot better than Leverkusen.

I think you’re right when you say we are better than City so would we not go for him. It shook me out of some stale thinking. I still reckon it’s a non starter though

Yeah I'm getting that vibe too. At one stage it was very much that was his dream move but they've shown no concrete interest. Feel like that's shifted now.

This is why it’s a travesty that Trent is going on a free to Madrid. They are out direct rivals on  targets like Huijsen and will probably be the reason for us to force Konate to either sign a new deal or sell him early.
