Antynwa Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Realistically of course, who do you bring in and why?
Gomez Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Realistically of course, who do you bring in and why? Rafa
Antynwa Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 Aquilani He's worth £30 Million when fit. Sorry
Antynwa Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 i reckon i can get him for £20m Down the pan that. I'd spend £14 Million on Leighton Baines FWIW
Falconhoof Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 'realistically' here has to cover a lot of ground. £20m doesn't get you the earth now does it ?Our biggest priority if we are spending that sort of money has to be another threatening player who scores, can play wide and will create chances. I'd have to go for Juan Mata.
JonShar Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I'd just give £10 million each and an extra £50,000 a week to Pepe & Suarez to sign for life.
sangria Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Rafa Hodgson of course. £3m to pay off Benitez, £1m to pay off Al-Fayed, £1.5m to pay Hodgson's wages, £7.5m to pay off Hodgson. Which leaves £7m remaining, which isn't quite enough to buy Poulsen and Konchesky, so hawk Lucas around and see if there's a buyer.
schmuckdonald Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 (edited) Pako Ayestaran and Rafael Benitez, then let them spend it because they're much smarter than me. In all seriousness, though: cheeky bid for Muniain and Martinez. Wouldn't get anywhere near, but I'd still do it. Edited June 22, 2011 by schmuckdonald
Case Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Jimmy Carter or, if unavailable, Mark Kennedy for £20,000,000,01. plus Konchesky

I'd have to go for Juan Mata. Yeah Mata seems the obvious answer, and I can't think of a better oneBut I really like Santi Carzola as well and was pleased to see him linked with us a week or so ago (although it seems to have disappeared a bit now). He's apparantly available for 20m EuroThen there is obviously Javi Martinez, but I think if I can only have one player, it would be a more attacking one, so one of the first two But I only watch English and Spanish footy, so I'm not the best scout
mrjunk Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Almost definately Xabi Alonso. Price and wages in line with this i would think, and the value for teh youngsters learning off him & the rhythm he brings to our play are worth double the values imho.

The Hitman Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Depends what club I was at. At Liverpool: Probably somebody like Juan Mata. Anywhere else: Paul Konchesky.
Molby Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Mata or Xabi they get Agger too should suit RM that one - they bought a crocked ball playing CB from the PL before and that worked out fine
johngibo YPC Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 we should sign all three and declare a title tilt. I'd like that, but i'm trying to play the game
Tosh Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I'd buy someone you'd never heard of for 20m and on a big weekly salary But I'd insist they use an agent of my choosing. Perhaps a blood relative or something like that
Sion Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Assuming enticing said player is no problem then Hummels Future captain material
Leo No.8 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Javi Martinez - think he'd be the centre of our midfield sorted for many years to come.
Gunga Din Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 (edited) i'd buy 20 million £1 scratchcards actually no, i'd buy a dwarf and shoot him out a canon in the centre circle at half time Edited June 22, 2011 by Gunga Din
Billy Dane Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I'd spend the money on 45,000 fans who would sing and support the team through every single game we played for the entire 90 minutes. Their mission: to create a cauldron of noise that would make our players feel ten foot tall and terrify the opposition.
