Red Kent Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 never thought there would be more plusses than minuses from a defeat at Old Trafford. Plusses. Kelly.ShelveySkrtelReinaAurelioBabelWrecked the ground MinusesWe got beat
Jimi Rojo Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 There was a great moment with a possible quadruple save from Reina and everyone defending like their life depended on it. Finally. Some really nice passing at times. Agger & Aurelio are a big part of this.Kelly was superb! He was all over the place.Their fans seemed to get more and more quiet/worried.We didn't seem to miss Gerrard after he was sent off! 10 against 11 away at Old Trafford. That's the biggest plus of all. obviously the lads will be knackered but they put a shift in.
RafaShanks Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 One very slight minus for Kelly, who was our best player. Needs to learn to smash the ball out to row Z on occasions. Hopefully he'll get the run he deserves in our first team and Glen plays in front of him at RW.

The players need to realise that everything does not have to come through Stevie when he's playing.
D.Boon Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Kelly was excellent, Meireles was rubbish, worst ive seen him in a red shirt. He doesnt like a tackle. Several times today he put us in trouble because of it.

D.Boon Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 he may have been wary after what happened with Gerrard. he doesnt normally shirk a tackle He ducked out of a couple before the red. then another 2 or 3 after. Been noticeable before today. I dont think he likes the rough stuff. Dont expect him to be smashing into players but he cant be crying out of 50/50's, not in central midfield.

Don't think he was fully fit to be honest, Seem to be protecting his injured ankle alot when pulling out of the tackles.
Benzo-13 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Plus :It's the official end of the moores eraAin't that great!! At last that ninny hasn't an influence or knock on effect!
Zoob Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Pros: Until we got tired in the last quarter of the game, there were very few aimless punts forward. Kelly looked very comfortable. Pretty impressive given the surroundings and being down to 10 menOur players looked inspired and as if they cared. Cons Howard Webb forgot to actually wear his United shirt, which meant people had to waste time with photoshop. No United players were broken.
Red Kent Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Howard Webb forgot to actually wear his United shirt, which meant people had to waste time with photoshop. LOL, can I pinch that please ?
Swipe Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Plus :It's the official end of the moores era The relief is immense. So excited about this month.
New York Red Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I'm hopeful that Kenny can get the best out of Babel. He's got the raw talent. He'd be like a 15 million signing and if anyone is going to do it, it is Kenny.
Nebraska Red Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I'm hopeful that Kenny can get the best out of Babel. He's got the raw talent. He'd be like a 15 million signing and if anyone is going to do it, it is Kenny. how many times do we have to say this. when he comes back from injuries we all hope he'll be like a new signing. the lad is not good enough, he does not have the heart to play in the PL and he certainly doesn't have the brains. if we get a good offer, sell him.
KD07 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Kelly was fantastic and I thought Agger looked classy at the back. Would love to see him and Skrtel together as a partnership.
Damian_de Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Pressing the ball high up the pitch. Boss.Passing the ball on the ground when in possession. I said to the Mrs it's only been 6 months but it feels like 6 years since we passed the ball rather than tried to get rid of it. We didn't seem to miss Gerrard after he was sent off! 10 against 11 away at Old Trafford. That's the biggest plus of all. obviously the lads will be knackered but they put a shift in.We well missed him. We had to stop pressing in their half and Carrick slowed the game right down for them.
fred milne Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 He ducked out of a couple before the red. then another 2 or 3 after. Been noticeable before today. I dont think he likes the rough stuff. Dont expect him to be smashing into players but he cant be crying out of 50/50's, not in central midfield.I've noticed that myself before yesterday. Lucas and Meireles do seem to be on the same wavelength but Meireles will need to compete physically or we will be left with a pretty lightweight centre midfield and moving Gerrard back there will be hard to resist.
magneto Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Kelly and Johnson as a right flank combo, needs to be tried.
DanielS Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I've noticed that myself before yesterday. Lucas and Meireles do seem to be on the same wavelength but Meireles will need to compete physically or we will be left with a pretty lightweight centre midfield and moving Gerrard back there will be hard to resist. Raul backed out of the two footed lunge aimed at him just before Gerrard's red. Hard to blame him for that.
nb Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Reina made more short passes and throws yesterday than the rest of the season so far combined.
richwilks Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Plus's Agger superbSkrtel looking solid as wellKelly excellent and real competition for JohnsonKonchesky nowhere near the squad and Aurelio played wellShelvey was given game time over PoulsenDalglish responded to the situation i.e. positive subs Negatives s*** refereeGerrard red cardMerieles s***ting out
sangria Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Not a bad performance at home against a lesser team. Let's see how they play away from home against a strong team. Or so it felt like. One of the RAWK commentators noted towards the end, he'd forgotten this was an away game, so different was the performance to Hodgson's way of playing.
