Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 what's strangest you've seen? And by strange, I don't just mean weird - like if someone had Double Decker on the back, but weird like complete fringe players, ressies, Voronin etc
Eiler99 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Some Irish lad at a pub I used to go to had "Potter" on his away shirt. It was the season he made a few appearances under Rafa. 04/05 maybe? My mate asked him about it once and he said that "Potter is better than Stevie G was at that age". I wonder if he still wears it.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 I sawI 8 Mancs once - pretty feckin sad really
baz2107 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Had some shockers in the mid 90's as a teenager. Collymore, McAteer, Ince, Smicer, Staunton, then Kewell and Cisse in my late teens/early 20's when I realised every players name i got were crap I stopped until making an exception for Torres a couple of years ago. Only commendable ones I think I had were Berger and Babbel, I did have that dwarf who now plays in in some cess pit elsewhere but that shirt is long gone!

Gunga Din Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 saw a family once and they all had Nemeth on the back of their shirts
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 they're not way out there though really - I mean, has anyone ever seen a Voronin one, or an Arphexad (sp?) for example - this came from the tfr thread - or whathisface who came in at RB for 1/2 a season, Dutch fella.... Even Insua? Not exactly way out there, but I doubt there are many/any
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 McAteer, shocker? He was brilliant for us Brilliant? Nah. Anyway, it's a bit weird having anyone's name on the back of a replica shirt when you think about it.
Superjay Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 This season I was in my local and was watching the mancs. Kid was in there with "I 8 scousers" on his jersey singing at the top of his voice how much he loved Rooney.
stressederic Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Only had Berger on the back of a shirt. When he first made his debut though I was tempted to get one with Biscan. saw a family once and they all had Nemeth on the back of their shirts The Nemeth family? They're nice.

Wasn't there a bit of a stink a few months back about one of them getting 'Hillsborough 89' or '96 Not Enough' or some such s**** on one of their shirts?

Benzo-13 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 My Dad had Nunez on his shirt the day he made his debut v Arsenal. Bloody hoot that was the night the following May though as somebody else had Josemi!

kop205 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I saw an L. Jones once, in the Kop at the Southampton game in '95 (I think) when Bjornebye broke his leg and somebody chucked a load of pretend bank notes at Grobelaar who was in goal for them.
Guy_Incognito Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Where I play 5 a side there's a fella there who wears a Glam top with Djemba Djemba on the back
Benzo-13 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 these are what I'm looking for.... Still - anyone seen a Voronin? Or a N'Gog, or even any ressie keeper? I was in the Anfield shop the day Voronin got 10 and the whole place was just buying mostly Torres, then Gerrard, then Alonso, then Masch, then Carra.Even then he was still unpopular!
downunder Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I don't believe anyone should have names on their shirt, I support the club not a player (well that's my old fashioned opinion)
Stevie H Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 for ged's last game in 2004 lad who used to post on here as sabre turned up with 'van der vaart' on the back of his shirt and got ribbed mercilessly. 4pool was also there that day with '4pool' on the back of his. having a player's name on your shirt is weird enough really, having a forum pseudonym is perhaps something else.
