I thought Hull (Despite the scoreline) played fairly well. They actually try and play footy -but just got utterly outclassed yesterday. Hope they stay up. Nice to see teams playing footy.

Seen worst teams at Anfield. They were a bit unlucky.

 

For the first three goals they faced perhaps the best striker in the world in unstoppable form. Goals 4 and 6 were spawny in the extreme and goal 5 was sublime. Excellent goal.

 

They passed it around, tried to play football, but were outclassed by a team that looked rampant and perhaps could have scored another ten. At least they weren't hoofing it all over the place and despite the result they did some very nice stuff.

they tried for about 10 minutes in the first half just before and after they equalised

 

the way they gave up completely for the entire 2nd half was an embarrassment and tells you all you need to know about phil 'phil brown' brown. you must have left at half time.

Not high profile enough, I mean, it needed its own thread this Mike. It needed to be dissected and discussed further with the maximum possible audience. People tend not to look in MOM threads after having voted. That does not equal the exposure required.

I thought Hull's most successful line of attack was launching the ball in high to the big Dutchman who was winning headers against our centre halves who are clearly still very suspect to the aerial ball.

 

Not exactly Brazil of the 1970's Andy, didn't think they were trying to play that much football. That Manc tw*t Paul McShane went round trying to put it about as well, and in doing so made a complete c*nt of himself all afternoon.

 

If you were talking about Burnley I could understand, they tried to play some football and I'd like to see them stay up. Credit to Hull's fans for giving respect to Torres, but as far as their team went they weren't very good at all.

I can see what Andy is saying. They did make some effort to play football. Geovanni has some skill, and Boateng is no mug operator in midfield. They also tried to press us hard in the first half, not without success, which perhaps led to them being so exhausted late on - they did let their heads drop, but I think that was a combination of chasing shadows for so long, being in a position with no realistic chance of a result from just after Halftime and the recognition that a player like Torres operates in a different football universe entirely from mere mortals such as themselves. Few defences would look anything but poor against him, especially with an 18yo debutant.

 

I've seen worse, and definitely seen uglier, but they capitulated unacceptably before the end, no doubt about that.
