What the f*** was all that about. I've never heard a crowd react to a player like that. It was pretty disgusting. Wenger should have just left him on instead of humiliating him.

They've hated him and his attitude for a while but still a ridiculous reaction from so called fans. I'd never boo the team off at Anfield and singling out one player is much worse in my opinion. There is and has been a lot of our players who I don't particularly like but I'm still in full support of them when they are on the pitch.

Unless of course they're called Dirk Kuyt, at which point you call for them to be substituted constantly.

Wenger handled it poorly though. He should not have taken him off.

Wenger's job is to win football matches and the lad was clearly having a mare - if they were 3-0 up then fair enough but they weren't

Always disliked him, but really felt sorry for him watching that.

He looked so dejected. To get frustrated with a player is one thing, but to actively CHEER when they get subbed was shocking

just listened to 606 and they had a gooner call up who was ashamed and embarrassed at the behaviour of his fellow arsenal supporters. then to balance it they had another gooner call up who said that eboue deserved it because he's a cheating c*** who drags the club's name through the dirt with his diving and feigning injury. i think i kind of agree with both of them, but then i am shockingly hungover so thinking hurts.

Every Arsenal fan I've ever met hates Eboue as much as opposition fans do. Partly because he's crap, but mostly because he's an a******.

I personally can't stand him - he has that wonderful combination of s***house, dangerous tackles on opponants, coupled with the ridiculous ability to fling himself around in mock-pain whenever someone so much as breathes on him. He's like an Ivorian Robbie Savage on crack. And while the Arsenal fans' behaviour was pretty sub-standard from a 'supporter' point of view (though, are you surprised?), it couldn't have happened to a more deserving player - bloody brilliant watching that c*** cry as he trudged off. I think my favourite part of his performance was when Toure was bombing out of defence and yelling at him to make a run down the wing, only for Eboue to run toward him, tackle him, then pass the ball straight to a Wigan player.

I didnt realise that Eboue came on for Nasri in the 32nd min and was subbed in the 90th min.

But Wenger said:

"Eboue played for longer than I wanted him to."

Then why bring him on in the 32nd min, use a different sub.

There was 15 seconds left

Maybe 2 mins of injury time, but to take him off in the 90th min was pretty bizarre. one thing taking a player off so you can get him a standing ovation, but Wenger may as well have left him on - but I'm sure Wenger didn't expect that kind of reaction though, the fans are to blame, not Wenger.

Edit: just read that during the game Eboue tackled Toure, and then passed to Wigan - wtf?

Didn't witness this incident but isn't this similar to what we did with Murphy a few years back and Voronin recently against Lazio at Anfield?
