anny road Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 i am gonna nail my colours to the mast here i hate all Utd players by default, but i can take some of them....just Irwin, OGS, Larsson, McGrath, VdS (esp after yesterday!) to name a few..i have never minded Keane (i know not popular, but i wont lie) however, just looking at him yesterday, i can tell already he is gonna be up there with the Whitesides, Cantona, Nevilles of this world he looks a snidey little c*** he'll fit right in there
Ste M Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 When he was at Spurs I thought he was a bit of an Henry, great player, with a touch of arrogance. The transfer shenanigans have shown him up to be an utter utter c*nt though. Huge prima donna. He was f***ing abysmal yesterday as well, and the lack of work-rate will be hammered out of him. Still think he'll be the signing of the season though.

Benitez Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 When he was at Spurs I thought he was a bit of an Henry, great player, with a touch of arrogance. Whe he was at Spurs, I thought he was a lazy, arrogant, bottling twunt. Yes he's very very talented, but I hope he continues to be a lazy, arrogant, bottling twunt who dissapears in games more often than he appears.
D.Boon Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 VDS is a right c*** as far as i am concerned, the fluffy haired t***. He has been an accident waiting to happen for them since half way through last season and is definately a weak link who will cost them points.
chrisbonnie Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 he`s a c*** that Berabtov temrepmental f***** that got Martin jol the sack also, did anyone else think he was Feigning injury yesterday against us, when the going was tough, thats not the kind of player you want i sent that text to a utd mate of mine when Berbatov was whinging about his kneesy wheesy yesterday, and he thought the exact same thing, he`ll score a good few for them, but he`ll still be a grade A s***house
Hightown Phil Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Have you ever seen a more lazy player? Jesus Christ, he's hilarious. Think we spent 90 minutes just laughing at his work ethic. Out centre backs knocking the ball about, he's standing there hands on hips in the centre circle.
Sion Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Still think he'll be the signing of the season though. For £31m you'd expect pretty much that, anything less and he's a failure. Another fine example of an over-rated Spurs player.
Ronnie Whelan Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 He will rattle in the goals against the lower division sides and the fillers in the CL but its the big games you expect your big signings to perform in.
stressederic Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I still think he's going to screw about with their most effective way of playing as well.
Jimi Rojo Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Carra and/or Skrtel whacked him hard with tackles first 20 mins. He looked decidedly NOT up for it after that.
Hassony Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I still think he's going to screw about with their most effective way of playing as well. I hope he will be another Veron for them, a good player that will mess up their system
stressederic Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I hope he will be another Veron for them, a good player that will mess up their system Would be nice wouldn't it? I also wonder how big of a loss Queiroz will be to them.
CarraLegend Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I'm still not sure why they've signed him. I know he's a good player and that but I'd of thought they'd of been better off getting a decent £10m striker who'll be happy enough on the bench for a big club. It werent broke so im not sure what Ferguson is trying to fix, £30m suggests he's going to be starting regularly + if he is left out he's hardly the "fight for my place" type, he'll sulk. At least if Rooney and Tevez are playing s**** you get a shift out of them, they were in trouble yesterday and Berbatov went hiding, he's gutless. I know he's always been lazy but I found it incredible he couldnt even be arsed to change and work hard on his debut in one of the biggest club games in the world. They will get some sensational performances out of him but I think his arrival will pose more problems than answers.

They will get some sensational performances out of him but I think his arrival will pose more problems than answers. I have to agree with all that you have said. There are not that many top strikers out there and throughout the summer I was worried sick over this. Who could we buy that would do a job for us and accept rotation. Berbatov was way down my list because of his work ethic. Huntelar would have been my choice but what the feck do I know. Did any of the top teams go after him this summer? I dont think so. I find that strange.I was very much less than impressed with Berbatov yesterday and I really dont like the idea of Rooney being pushed out wide left to accomodate him. I have often wondered if Rooney could play the Scholes role? Lets face it he cant be any worse at challenging.Obviously, as a United fan I will get behind the player and cheer him when he scores and if he turns out to be another RVN I will eat my words, but somehow I doubt it.
Rimbeux Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I think they signed him because Ronaldo is off soonish and they need someone else who can be the focal point of the attack. For all their quality, Rooney and Tevez wont or dont play enough in the centre forward channel and it's been up to Ronaldo to do much of that over the past season or two and bang in the chances they make.
carrafan Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I think Berbatov's a quality signing and a type of player that they needed. He did cost a lot but if they win the league with him playing a part, you wouldnt see them Mancs complaining. Its choosing between either Tevez and Rooney to play alongside it which is going to be a problem. Tevez is a better player and in better form than Rooney, but he is still on loan and the firm the owns him whatsitsname, would want United to pay through their nose for him. I'm actually having doubts whether Ferguson would buy him if he costs 25 million or so. Berbatov yesterday did nothing but still created a goal for Tevez even though he hadnt play a single game in pre season. He'll always play a part in many goals throughout their season but the question is whose Ferguson going to drop to partner Berbatov especially once Ronaldo comes back.
Ronnie Whelan Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Who says it will be berbatov who sits on the bench? IMO based on current form it has to be Rooney.

Benitez Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Who says it will be berbatov who sits on the bench? IMO based on current form it has to be Rooney. But he's being played out of position
Barnesy_10 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Berbatov was s**** yesterday... I assumed his half arsedness at Spurs was due to him wanting to leave, obviously not, hes just a lazy c***. Would love to see how much pitch he covers compared to the likes of Kuyt or Keane...He's deadly with the ball at his feet, granted, but if that ball doesn't get played to his feet then forget any chance of himtrying to win the f***** back. Much like Cisse in a way.
Stevie H Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I think they signed him because Ronaldo is off soonish and they need someone else who can be the focal point of the attack. windy city red Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 He's one lazy player but I will admit and say watching him bring and control a ball down from a goal kick is pretty damn impressive. Dont think we have any player with that much control except maybe Torres, but even he doesnt do it that well.
_00_deathscar Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Nah not even Torres. Berbatov has all the skill in the world, he's also a lazy f***wit.
NWR Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 yeah i thought this too. they started going after him when they thought ronaldo was off, so it does feel like they've signed him with that in mind now. Was Ronaldo leaving last January? You dont remember the "Is he coming? He isnt coming" saga last January then?
