Look at it the other way round: Heskey was dropped by Sven as soon as he no longer played for a big team. Sven picks his players according to what players big teams have picked. Walcott would have had no chance were he still at Southampton even if he had played every game for them, but he gets picked without even having played for Arsenal because he belongs to that club.

It may not be laziness on his part, it may be self doubt. The step up from the French league to the Premiership is a big one and Cisse has never looked comfortable. He was also bought by a manager who wasn't actually there when he arrived so he might have felt that Benitez had less faith in him. Whatever the truth, it would do him and the club good for him to return to France. I am sure he's as disappointed as we all are with the way things turned out, but sometimes no-one is to blame. The only question to be sorted now is do the club wait for him to ask for a move thus saving paying up his contract?

For me Dalglish is still the greatest Liverpool player ever. I suppose it's unfair in some ways to compare them because Dalglish never had Gerrard's drive and ability to lift a team, but there again no British player ever had Dalglish's footballing brain.
