Dont get that path. Frank Sinatra, who was ushered away by M&P, was the conduit there, it was his connections that got them in to takeover when he was in the s***. Also doesn't fit in with the narrative of taking over an underdog rather than an established giant that seems to follow through these sugar daddy buys.

I think Rafa, possibly, would still be our manager, we wouldn't have signed Torres and Mascherano though, so I think Gerrard may well have left.

 

I reckon we would have been like Arsenal, flattering a title challenge but always the bridesmaid.
