Maldini Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Where would we be now if Moores hadn't sold to G&H? Who'd be our manager? What would our squad look like? Would we have a new stadium etc.?
mofus77 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Where would we be now if Moores hadn't sold to G&H? Who'd be our manager? What would our squad look like? Would we have a new stadium etc.? Just think how much money we've pissed away on interest charges, expenses for G&H, imaginary stadiums, refinancing charges...... We'd be at least £200M better off I reckon, someone will be able to tell us more accurately though?
cymrococh Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 They'd have sold us to the Man City lot and we'd have won everything, under Benitez.
D.Boon Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 someone will be able to tell us more accurately though? I'm sure someone will. Cant wait.
épieur Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 My guess is our commercial revenue would continue to be as pathetic as it was back then.
Knox_Harrington Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 My guess is our commercial revenue would continue to be as pathetic as it was back then.Spitting truth.
Molby Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 this thread will drag us to places we don't want to go I came to warn you and now I am leaving for ever* *speaking today
Benzo-13 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Dubai would've bought us and we'd be too busy buying polish for CL's no. 6/7/8 and League no.19.
Chili Palmer Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 They'd have sold us to the Man City lot and we'd have won everything, under Benitez. Is probably the most likely scenario.
Ed the Wool Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 They'd have sold us to the Man City lot and we'd have won everything, under Benitez. Have just sicked up a bit in my mouth.
Rimbeux Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Is probably the most likely scenario. Dont get that path. Frank Sinatra, who was ushered away by M&P, was the conduit there, it was his connections that got them in to takeover when he was in the s***. Also doesn't fit in with the narrative of taking over an underdog rather than an established giant that seems to follow through these sugar daddy buys.
richwilks Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I think we'd probably be better off than we are now, probably still under Benitez but unless they got someone in working with them we'd still be struggling commercially.
smithdown Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Dubai would've bought us and we'd be too busy buying polish for CL's no. 6/7/8 and League no.19. Dubai has gone completely bust though hasn't it?

Rimbeux Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 We were still pretty much a sleeping giant (not sure what that makes us now), I'd argue that getting us the title would be a much bigger deal than City or Chelsea winning it. We dont fit into the Chelsea or City model, sleeping giant isn't where it's at, it's essentially picking a traditional loser or underdog and making them into Real Madrid.
smithdown Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I don't know if we'd be talking like it's 1959 anyway.
Benzo-13 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Dubai has gone completely bust though hasn't it?Yeah but then they'd have shifted us to Abu Dhabi by then.Didn't they bail them out? Plus we wouldn't have had all the interest payments and pie in the sky stadium designs.

I thought I read we were their first choice but H & G quoted something crazy like £billion
Raj Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 We dont fit into the Chelsea or City model, sleeping giant isn't where it's at, it's essentially picking a traditional loser or underdog and making them into Real Madrid. Well Chelsea had the added bonus of a stadium worth millions in prime real estate location. That was a big factor for him
The_Adder Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Hurts my head even thinking about this, pretty sickening to be honest.
Mike Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Where would we be now if Moores hadn't sold to G&H? Who'd be our manager? What would our squad look like? Would we have a new stadium etc.? I don't like doing this game, I'm saying now no good can come of it.
Bailo Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I thought I read we were their first choice but H & G quoted something crazy like £billionAaah, the 'how much do they literally have in the bank' pricing model of theirs.

Would we have a new stadium etc.?I think Rafa, possibly, would still be our manager, we wouldn't have signed Torres and Mascherano though, so I think Gerrard may well have left. I reckon we would have been like Arsenal, flattering a title challenge but always the bridesmaid.
