Heard something about PIF inviting FSG to invest in one of the clubs in the Saudi league, which came up during the Nunez talks

Have had Everton & Arsenal fans telling me this “smells bad”.

Are we the baddies?

If there's one thing PIF is desperate for it's cash investment.

It's obviously not about cash

See how happy we are to all give them credit.

Turns out we did genuinely all prefer winning and doing well and didn’t have agendas.

Credit where it's due - we are really, really, well run at the minute - and clearly have the best people in charge - Edwards and Hughes have really made their mark these last 12 months or so too.

What a time to be a Red 🙂

Exactly. I rate them based on exactly how good they are at any given moment. At the moment they are approaching God tier.

FFS hope Guehi doesn't see this

It's 15 years next month since they took over.

They've definitely made a few massive f*** ups, but from there to here is a pretty impressive body of work.

We have to be one of the best run clubs in the world now.

The only recent criticism I have is the period where they were investigating a sale. Took their eye off the ball for 6-9 months, left us without a DoF which led to contracts getting run down.

Took us a while to sort that out.

That aside, it's been pretty bloody impressive

As well as the transfer deadline day, the Reds have been doing other things.

Not least a reshuffle of their board of directors.

Andy Hughes, the managing director of the club, is retiring at the end of the season and has stepped down from the board after 13 years.

Billy Hogan will also come off the board, but will continue his role as the chief executive officer at Liverpool.

Jenny Beacham, Liverpool's chief financial officer, has been appointed to the board, along with Jonathan Bamber, the club's chief legal and external affairs officer.

Beacham and Bamber join John Henry, Tom Werner, Mike Gordon, Mike Egan and Sir Kenny Dalglish on the Liverpool board of directors.

Is it weird for the CEO not to be on the board?

26th January 2024. I thought the ride was over. Jurgen said he was leaving and it was hard to not think this had been an amazing journey and now it would come to an end. A generational leader who was so utterly transformative for our club was leaving and with him our time as challengers for PL and CL glory would start with wither.

1st September 2025. It feels like we are the biggest club in the world.

There is zero doubt that appointing Klopp was the catalyctic moment that changed everything. That was on the owners, as was the AXA and the 2 new stands. Were there times when it seemed they didn't want to behave like the biggest team in the world. Yup. Were there times when it seemed like their hopes of being able to compete on a level financial playing field were simply niave. Yup.

Yet here we are, with seemingly total cohesion between ownership, board, football operations, manager, and team. The major capital projects delivered and paid for, and the financial management in a world that has evolved from FFP to PSR that rewards the brightest minds off the pitch to pay for the best talent on it.

Since 2015 this has been one heck of a ride, and rather than slowing down with a whimper it feels like we are just about to steamroll all and sundry home and abroad.

what a time to be a red.

It's just wonderful.

"a key role in helping Ipswich get promoted to the Premier League" is such a LinkedIn or CV bullsh*t phrase. No mention of how they were they hilariously bad and immediately relegated.

I have a genuine feeling that people are going to feel quite differently about Hughes in a couple of years.

Turned out to be a lot sooner than a couple of years…

It sounds like a fairly easy gig. How many players are out on loan at any one time?

Lazy c***.
