Hassony Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 We've challenged for the league twice in the last 20 years, we have no right to think that we should be challenging for the title every season anyone who dismiss winning trophies shouldn't really be following football

Tosh Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 We're the Mancs in the 80's.Not been relegated. Yet! The more we get ourselves "up" for big games and yet roll over in games like last night (19 out of 41 points won against the lower half of the league this year), the more we are an irrlevance. Need to steamroller the dross. Simples

We're the equivalent of 1990's Spurs.
Redray Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Not to the big teams no. Maybe to some of the not so big ones though.
Chili Palmer Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Not to the big teams no. Maybe to some of the not so big ones though. I think thats the perfect way to put it. The big teams are scared of us because they know how we will perform against them. The not so big teams are no longer scared of us because they know how we will perform against them. We will not win the league again until we change the latter. Man utd win 20 points a season from the 'not so big teams' on reputation alone.
RBM Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Not yet, another season, like the last 3 and we will be though.
Stevie Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I still can't believe that Swansea are just 3 points behind us. Wolves are closer to us in points than we are to United.

johngibo YPC Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 The Mancs sing about us every week if that helps

FakeNewsBear Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 (edited) Okay winning FA and Carling cup or be in Man Citys position? Edited March 22, 2012 by Steve Zizzou
Tosh Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 We're on an FA Cup run... not won the bloody thing. Looking back to 2009, many on here would rather be in City's position
Coyler Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Okay winning FA and Carling cup or be in Man Coty position?Be in their position with our own squad or with theirs? It would probably be more headwrecking because there's no way we'd pass out United from there.
sutty Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I don't care what anybody else thinks to be honest.
RBM Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I don't care what anybody else thinks to be honest. It's not other fans that are the problem, it's the perception of the club by players. If we continue in this vein, it's going to get increasingly difficult to turn it around, with the type of players we'll be able to entice.

Money is way more important than romance to players.
épieur Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 League position is the most important barometer of where we are going. A liverpool manager doesn't get a pass on the league.
Swipe Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 League position is the most important barometer of where we are going. A liverpool manager doesn't get a pass on the league. Agree. And with City's money and Spurs benefitting from a drop in quality across the entire league, the task of getting into the top 4 has become more difficult and the worrying prospect of sliding away is a very real one.
Epic Swindle Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Awful thread, hopefully binned to obscurity.

Noel Street Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Okay winning FA and Carling cup or be in Man Citys position? what finish second with a stupid outlay on transfers and wages with nothing to show for it? the champions league money for what they've spent is irrelevent.
