Did well at Hull in the first half of the season too. Was their best defender by all accounts from my cousin who is a seaosn ticket holder there.

Think so didn't we sign him when he was 17? Just remember he got done for pace against Arsenal in the FA youth cup one time but think he's matured and learnt from that since tho.

It's gone strangely quiet on Ayala. He's never included when people discuss the CB picture, it appears that Kelly has moved in front of him, there's Wilson as well and unless I'm wrong he wasn't even on the bench on Wednesday. On the other hand, he's never included in the list of deadwood to get rid of either. Being a total IKN (I know nothing), I was wondering if anyone knows anything - are we looking at another loan for him?

Didn't Kenny mention Ayala had a slight injury so was left out along with Meireles?

 

I thought Ayala had a decent chance of making it here. Seemed a more English-style centre half, more aggressive than Wilson for example and on the few occasions he's played for the first team he's done alright.

I think he could do a job for a Premiership team, excellent in the air and a good reader of the game but a yard too slow and not great on the ball. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go back to Spain and do very well, they don't have many centre-backs as good as him in the air.
