gulaman Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Former soccer player Avi Cohen dies of motorbike injury Avi Cohen, the 54-year-old former soccer star who was hit by a car and critically injured while on his motorbike near the Ramat Gan Diamond Exchange last week, died at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center on Tuesday. The hospital had tried to improve his condition, but he suffered a major lower-brain injury; a hospital committee authorized the disconnection of a ventilator after he was tested and found to have suffered lower-brain death despite the fact that he had a heartbeat. The tragedy aroused the issue of half-helmets, which are sold here even though they are not legal and do not adequately protect motorcycle drivers on the road.http://www.jpost.com/Headlines/Article.aspx?id=201291 Rest in peace, Avi.
