LFCTV Liverpool FC LFC Dani Pacheco and Martin Kelly have signed new, extended contracts at Liverpool. See .tv shortly (JR)

Liverpool have today confirmed youngsters Dani Pacheco and Martin Kelly have signed new contracts at Anfield. Pacheco has signed a two year extension taking his contract to 30 June 2014, while Kelly has signed a three year extension, also taking his contract to 30 June 2014.

He's obviously been convinced that he has a long term future here and should not get too down over any short term difficulties.

Then he's going to trust the current manager, who hasn't played him much at all. He must have interested clubs in Spaining waiting to sign him and give him more playing time. So he chooses to be here which is odd all things considered.

Whatever the reasons behind him not playing, be they attitude and/or the manager not trusting kids with his job prospects, there seems to have been some movement over the past few weeks and he's ended up signing.

 

To be honest I thought the talk of him leaving at his age, about a third of a way into the season he was marked down to emerge into the 1st team squad, was not normal.
