A number of those apply to us. ready to cancel / whatever here.

Is this being cross posted / co-ordinated on other forums ?

It will be, the idea is that it is a standalone, single-issue campaign in conjunction and supported by the various groups, forums and organizations.

Waits for inevitable reply...

I'm with Natwest. Happy to cancel, if it wasn't cos of this it'd be cos of them s**** f***ing adverts anyway.

So.....how much hassle is it to change a bank nowadays, cos I've not done it since I was at college.

Transferring CC balances and Mortgages seems easier than Bank Accounts, but essentially they all want our money.

We just all have to be prepared for a bit of personal nuisance in order to do this.

Quite seriously, if you don't have an account with them go and open one to close it when we all do. Both actions will impact on them and cost them and help to make a point.

It's very easy, most banks will also take care of all the hassle of moving direct debits for you as well these days.

indeed. we've seen what happens when there is mass withdrawal from a bank.

it's actually a good idea to get some business with them just to take away if and when it comes to it, or indeed reward them if they do the right thing by remaining.

transferring insurance and business with their other companies to competitors should be straightforward enough too.

any existing boycotts, while admirable, really don't have the desired effect. the threat of massive disruption and financial loss on a single day, should they refinance or allow outside refinancing, is much more powerful, and a credible threat.

the S*n boycott and it's hit on the income of that company is a great example, and this is potentially a much greater effect in the short term.

I have 3 bank accounts with NatWest and the house, contents, cars and cats with Direct Line - sorry I am not going to be cancelling them but applaud those that do

course we do. it's not all work, work, work. cue crockett's theme.

FWIW i think flight's idea that if you don't have an account with them then open one and close it is a cracker. that's got to cost them more in administration terms than they could get off you sticking 50 quid in and then taking it out next day and closing the account.

Easy. The bank you are moving to will do it all. I have just moved my peronal accounts from Nat West.

Our business account, turnover 18m, is a loss to RBS too. I told them the reason, although it was a part of it, was the situation at LFC.

Santander were actively marketing this and will do your admin etc plus an incentive recently not sure if its still available

I've been with NatWest 26 years and will not hesitate to move if needed

I have products with Natwest.

Truth be told they've been great to me, so I might threaten to withdraw my custom, but I wouldn't actually do it.

I would happily start an RBS account then close it if there was a mass closing thing going on though.

I'm with Privilege insurance, had no idea they were part of RBS. Will move my insurance to another company and send a letterbomb to Joanna Lumley (not really I think she's boss).
