Spion kop Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) Just saw this quote in the times, it made me chuckle in a "ooh get her" way. Since Rafa Benitez came in as Inter coach he has had your pictures taken down from the training ground and criticised your training methods, and he says you won playing counter-attacking football. One thing is for sure, for sure, for sure: he cannot do better than I did. No chance. Another thing is for sure, for sure, for sure: if he wins the Intercontinental Cup, he will have won two matches, I oversaw 13. So it is my Intercontinental Cup, not his Intercontinental Cup. If he wins the European Super Cup its my European Super Cup, not his.The other thing is that I dont need pictures to love people. My wallet is not full of pictures of my family, nor is my desk. People are in your heart, and you love them. When I was there I kept Helenio Herrera pictures, I kept Roberto Mancini pictures, and it was not a problem. If he does not like my picture it is not a problem. The people at the club have a great relationship with me and have me in their memories, they dont need a picture. I wish Benitez success. Not because I love him I dont love him, but because hes the coach of my team. Hes the coach of Inter, their supporters, the coach of Mr Moratti [inter chairman]. I want Inter to play against Real in the Champions League final. Thats what I wish for him Yes yes i can't spell surnames. Edited August 8, 2010 by Spion kop
Billy Dane Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Rafa comes across a bit petulant, taking down Jose's pictures etc tbf
Leo No.8 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 I think there's some serious sexual tension between them. They need to just bum each other and have done with it.
Cam Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 That's it - they're Maddie and David from Moonlighting or Mulder and Scully. They need inviting to a party and then locking in a cupboard until they 'sort it out'. Obviously, the relationship would spoil it for the rest of us but as long as they're happy and satisfied...
ManxRed Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 One thing is for sure, for sure, for sure: he cannot do better than I did. No chance. Another thing is for sure, for sure, for sure: if he wins the Intercontinental Cup, he will have won two matches, Ha ha. That's quite funny though.
scoose Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I missed their battling when maureen left. Chelsea games arent the same
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I want Inter to play against Real in the Champions League final. That’s what I wish for him What's Jose's head to head record with Rafa in the Champions League?
Raj Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 What's Jose's head to head record with Rafa in the Champions League? I believe that Rafa has won 2. Mourinho 1. 3 Draws
Redray Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 And round and round it goes. This one is particularly good as Jose manages to get in a sideways shot at Guardiola as well. Mourinho queries Rafa's approach Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has urged his successor at Internazionale, Rafa Benitez, to build on the foundations he himself laid at the San Siro.Mourinho and Benitez often exchanged words during their times in England and the Portuguese continues to torment his Spanish rival via the press. He told France Football: "Benitez can do what he wants, but I think that he should have the intelligence to profit from the work that I did before him, instead of wanting to change everything. "I have always done that every time I have arrived at a new club and it's what Pep Guardiola did when he took Frank Rijkaard's place. For me, this is being an intelligent coach." http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/43651/Mourinho_queries_Rafas_approach.aspx
Coyler Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 It'd be great to have another European Cup and a league and all, but how much of a pain in the b******s would it be for that prick to have f*cked off after getting tired of his Liverpool project and still talking like that in the media?
stressederic Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Anybody would think that Jose was completely obsessed with Rafa...
Billy Dane Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Rafa does seem to have upset him a tad.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Mourinho gave Inter the greatest season of their lives last year. He is trying to increase the pressure on Rafa. His words must still hold some sway in Italy and there is nothing better that he would like than for Rafa to fall flat on his face.
Sion Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I always felt that if Liverpool won the treble, the next season I wouldn't be too bothered as i'd still be living off that high. Obviously i'd want us to do well, but if we won nothing then I wouldn't be that annoyed. So not sure how much pressure Rafa is under. He can't be expected to win it again.

That might be the way you think but not sure the Italian football fans or Inter club officials will be looking at it that way when they've sacked their league winning managers in the past for not winning a European Cup as well. Rafa is under lots of pressure and they might not expect the treble but if he doesn't win Serie A or the Champions League as a minimum he'll be sacked at the end of the season. Inter don't have the approach to retaining managers and loyalty we do, as the number they've gone through over the years suggests. To be honest, the CL is a big ask but might suit him better because he's a genius when it comes to Europe; but if Rafa doesn't win Serie A after what has gone before and with the squad of players he has then he'll probably deserve to go! I wonder what Madrid fans think of his bulls***. I always felt that if Liverpool won the treble, the next season I wouldn't be too bothered as i'd still be living off that high. Obviously i'd want us to do well, but if we won nothing then I wouldn't be that annoyed. So not sure how much pressure Rafa is under. He can't be expected to win it again. The thing is, in italy, the other big teams are woefully inconsistent and so Inter are very hot favourites. Whether their fans are sated after 5 leagues, I don't know, but the expectation is the win Serie A quite easily. That might be the way you think but not sure the Italian football fans or Inter club officials will be looking at it that way when they've sacked their league winning managers in the past for not winning a European Cup as well. They didn't win the league between 89 and 2006 (and that last on a DQ of Juventus) so they weren't sacking managers for not winning the European Cup... Mancini was given two chances to at least look like he was getting close to the CL, so he's the only one you can say that he sacked after winning the league and failing in Europe. And Inter were pants in Europe under him.
