Giggs's goal was not a great deal dissimilar to Arbeloa's goal against WBA, steps inside a nonexistent challenge and hits a nice finish into the corner with his wrong foot - kinda like Riera's vs Wigan at home even.

Amr Zaki's acrobatic goal at Anfield.

Gerrard's goal against Newcastle

Alonso's belter against Hull

Robinho's chip against Arsenal

Nasri's 2nd goal against Utd - great team goal

Leadbitter's goal for Sunderland vs Arsenal

Crouchie's special against Stoke

Lampard's (*grits teeth*) dink away at Hull

Jenas's run after the slip by Clichy and finish from outside the box to make it 3-4 vs Arsenal

Gerrard's daisy cutter against the bitters

Macheda (*still has some teeth to grind*) vs Villa

How Zaki wasn't in the top 10 i have no idea. It was like Tuncay's but about 3 times further out.

Exactly. He had absolutely no right to even consider he could score from there, facing completely away from goal when he starts to strike it. It's one of the best finishes I've ever seen. I couldn't make a sound at the match after witnessing it and ended up just jumping up and down doing a sort of silent scream.

1.Torres for me, the only goal where the scorer did not not even look at the keeper or the goal until the ball was struck.

 

2.Cole, great build up and finish.

Agree. The control and turn for both goals was superb. Van Persie was also another with the 'wrong' foot. Outrageous that Zaki's goal wasn't there. Think it may have been the same month as Bentley's, but Bentley wouldn't have scored that goal against most keepers - was a good hit but Almunia - not for the first time - looked all over the place.

 

Even more outrageous that Giggs v West Ham is on there. Must be one of the all time most rubbish goals ever to make it into a goal of the season list. Hate to say it, but Ronaldo's free kick goal vs Blackburn (like Giggs - was in Feb) was far,far better, as was Anelka's vs Villa and Lennon's vs Hull (all also in Feb)

 

Torres' goal should win it. It was outrageous skill and execution and didn't look remotely possible from where he received the ball and the direction he was facing.
