I don't usually care what the press write about us but from a supposedly serious paper and one not given to hyperbole:

Instead of sitting joint top with Chelsea, Liverpool would be 14 points worse off if their matches had finished after 58 minutes. (The Times)

If anything we have been unlucky this season

we scored a perfectly good goal against Stoke, and against Villa away we lost Torres after 15 minutes

I'm happy with winning from a losing position in any game, I really don't see what the problem is. I almost prefer it to it winning comfortably.

A simplistic personal view is this. One of two things is likely to happen;

1) We never get out of 2nd gear and we finally start dropping points instead of making great comebacks and fall away from a title challenge.

2) We will click through the gears and start sticking 3 and 4 past the weaker teams before they get a chance to take the lead.

Not doing the research but I think under Rafa we lose most of our points in the first 10 games of a season so I hope we get going soon like in previous seasons put to bed any doubts some have.

football punditry continues to eat itself. man united winning games late used to be the 'sign of a great side', now apparently we're doing something unseemly.

To be fair, I have heard several pundits (Gray, Claridge to name 2) who have been saying that its a sign of a good team

In the 2nd half of the City and Wigan games we have dominated completely and I don't think that a win was in any doubt IMO.

The points dropping thing doesn't make sense as it our best start under Rafa and we have more points at this stage than Utd did in winning the league last season. I don't think the strength of the other sides can be underestimated and the fact that we have been able to do what we have done is a huge plus for me.

We could do with a few easy wins, although it proves a number of things about the team, in terms of both fitness and attitude.

Saturday was the first day in years that I've listened to radio commentary of one of our games. Not paced the floor like that for f***ing ages. :D

I thought Radio 5 live was shocking, actually. very poor.

You ever read any of his 'scouting reports' in the guardian? It's a death sentence for anyone's career:

"21 year old left back, runs well, uses his left foot a lot, lost the ball four times when he headed it, crossed it sometimes, needs to learn the channels when he isn't heading it, seemed to be thinking about what he would do in life if he could play a musical instument when there was a throw in, could do with turning more to the right, could be a prospect, was absolutely rubbish, should try playing right midfield instead, which is something that a layman wouldn't see, but I do, I'm a professional, will be interesting to see how he develops if the interest from Crystal Palace reserves comes to fruition, forget it, I didn't go.".

It's the fact that a national paper went out of their way to "prove" something like this!

"Liverpool are doing far too well. Lets find a way to have a snide dig. Put them back in their place.".

And 58 mins???? It's hardly the final embers of the game is it??
