He slapped Masch in the face. Can't think of a more clear cut case. Doesn't matter how hard it is, it's not like a tackle, there is no valid reason for slapping someone even lightly, on a football pitch, he must have been aware of what would happen had the ref seen it.

 

Masch was lucky to get away with the initial grab, but that's irrelevant to Aliadiere's actions.

 

'boro' do seem to appeal against every red card they get, so it's about time the FA started applying the law and increasing the bans.
