 when does he expect the January window to be? August?

Funny innit, other teams manage to get players in but poor old ickle Rodent twied as hard as he could but couldn't manage to get that full back or striker the team desperatley need.

Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder slammed the timing of the January transfer window as he failed to do as much business as he would have liked.

Roeder saw his side beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Wednesday but says having the transfer window to deal with during such a busy period of football made it almost impossible to handle.

"As hard as I tried today I couldn't make a breakthrough," said Roeder.

"I think it's a terrible time to have a transfer window.

"I've got to manage a football club and prepare a team for a game but I've been working from 8am this morning trying to get players in.

"And on the final day it's not just about getting a body in, it has got to be somebody who is fit to wear a Newcastle shirt and they are in short supply at this stage."

We are hardly ones to talk with lastday transfers not coming through, but really it's no excuse. He could have set up the deal he wanted prior to the transfer window.

but Liverpool aren't making excuses, Rafa isn't crying cos he has to do 3 jobs at the same time, and we only really needed one player - cover for Finnan, which we did.

He makes it sound like he is the entertainments mananger at a working mans club who has been let down by one of his acts at the very last minute and he is trying to get a replacement. Should of got up 8 weeks ago, not at 8 this morning.

Also, and I know this may sound weird, but, you know how sometimes there are people, famous or unfamous, who have a face that for no real reason what-so-ever you want to punch, really f***ing hard?. Well his mouth really f***ing annoys me, especially when he talks and its one of those things I want to punch really f***ing hard.

Makes me feel bad because its harmless and not like it is a threat or anything....

"How am I expected to make transfers on the last day when other managers conduct their deals in secret? It's a disgrace. I can't be linked to a player unless I'v heard of him first!"

Not sure what it is he looks like but he does possess that punchable quality of which you speak. What is it he reminds me of...plain clothes copper, dole sniffer, traffic warden...british rail ticket collector?

If anyone has idea's of one day managing at some sort of good level this c*** somehow managing in the Premiership should give you all the motivation you need.

Indeed. Sit back and imagine just for one minute what it would be like if Roeder was in charge of Liverpool.

'A terrible time to have a transfer window'.

Presumably it's January because its roughly half way through the season. When would Glenn prefer to have the window, in April so we can buy players in for the last couple of games?

He really is a genuis isn't he.

Or maybe he'd like it in December, when the CL group stages, the latter stages of the Worthie Cup, and the high-jinks of the Xmas and New Year schedule will make that troublesome business of ringing clubs so much easier

Maybe because your Stupid Chairman has spent a money like a mad man the last two transfer windows (without any success) may have something to do with it. Maybe a bid for Malky Mackay for 16 million would have helped.

Why doesn't Roeder just shut up and stop drawing attention to himself?

Ratfink.

What about these two?

Why would Roeder care about the CL group stages?

Well Mr. Roeder allow me to make a suggestion then ... if you dislike the Jan transfer window so much maybe you can bring up a notion to have it changed at the next LMA (League Managers Association) meeting.

Oh wait, you don't have a UEFA coaching badge and wouldn't even be allowed to attend the meeting and shouldn't have been given the green light the manage Newcastle full time anyway.
