Falconhoof Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Would a yellow card for Momo mean he'd be suspended for Arsenal or are we past that now ? ReinaPalettaAggerPeltierWarnockPennantSissoko /GuthrieZendenRiiseFowlerBellamy
Benitez Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Dudek can play this one now can't he? Not sure about Momo, I thought he was safe now, and that was why Rafa didn't start him yesterday. I'm sure we'll go with that back four though. And maybe Gonzalez will start, cos he could do with the games being as his season so far has been so stop-start due to injuries / illness.

Its a tricky game to approach this because Birmingham are on a bit of a run while our game away at Arsenal is so important it can't be overstated. I want us to win at Birmingham but I can't help but look forward to our next 2 league games. If we win away at Arsenal and Boro then we have two relatively easy home league games. Get through all of that on a winning league run and we might be ready for a real push in the New Year. I know, I know, one game at a time.
CarraLegend Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 If Momo is booked he'd miss Boro away, i'd rather he got booked away to Arsenal and missed City at home to be honest.

Guest Kev Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Dudek can play. Fowler, Agger, Pennant will play.
Alonso Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Dudek Peltier Paletta Agger Warnock Pennant Guthrie Zenden Gonzalez Bellamy Fowler Given Guthrie's competent performance last time out I think he deserves to start and plus with the Arsenal game in mind I wouldn't want anything to happen to Sissoko.
Maldini Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Guthrie and Zenden in midfield doesn't provide much protection for the back 4 though
Guest ritchie_50 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Where's Elisha Scott with his team sheets. I doubt the manger knows yet. Not arsed about the league cup this season but now its on Sky and probably billed as fat heads revenge, I don't want to go out to them. Put out a strong side capable of winning the game but rest players for Arsenal. We're not in the position Arsenal are, where we can rest a whole team and still beat most premierships first 11.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I would work out my team for Arsenal and then work backwards from that.
Phil236849 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 didnt rafa say that after beating reading, he might start taking the competition more seriously?
Andy @ Allerton Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Rafa will surprise everyone with his team selection
Falconhoof Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 Rafa will surprise everyone with his team selection Will he surprise you Andy ? Sounds like you won't be surprised because you are prepared for a surprise.
Kahnee Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Will he surprise you Andy ? Sounds like you won't be surprised because you are prepared for a surprise. Maybe the surprise will be that there isn't a surprise, which will certainly surprise those expecting to be surprised, and could equally catch out those who didn't know whether to expect a surprise or not
crisps Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Rafa will surprise everyone with his team selection same team as saturday

psl Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 (edited) The fact is that we won't be surprised when Rafa springs a surprise. Unless he fails to spring a surprise, which in itself would be a surprise. Edited November 6, 2006 by psl

Bootle Buck Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 After using the youngsters in the last round. Rafa, in his persistance to boggle the minds of the media has decided to play 5 of the Liverpool Legends team. Alan Kennedy, Jan Molby, John Durnin, John Walk and Ian Rush will all start.
