Yup. I just watched MOTD. First time this season I've sat down at watched it. I found myself hopping channels during the footy. I only settled when Hansen and Lawrenson were the best thing I found.

It's got f*** all to do with Torres being disinterested per se. It's got everything to do with Torres being the "focal point" of the blunt instrument that is our attack away from home. Roy is at the root of the problem at the moment and well you know it.

I agree this isn't the worst we've played away this season... It's still not good though. Newcastle have scored, and are happy to let us have the ball in our own half. They're the team that look more like scoring next.

They did. They had an in form Milner and Young for a start didn't they? On the other hand, it was my birthday and I was fuming we didn't turn up. They weren't that good at all - I seem to remember one of their goals being scored well after what should have been injury time in the 1st half and from a corner that never was. I went for a piss thinking the ref had blown for half time and saw the goal go in just as I walked back into the pub. Happy f***ing birthday. And that silly, silly pen that Gerrard gave away.

I get your point. My inner voice said similar when the match ended last night. However, in the cold light of day, it'll take more than beating a very poor Villa side 3-0 at Anfield on a freezing cold Monday night to persuade me there's not boundless room for pessimism in the current set up.
