It's quite a coincidence isn't it? Plausible that there has been words from the Torres camp that they need to see action on transfers or he's out. If so... this could all have blown over by the morning. Also possible that the club are withholding their statement to reign in a journalist or two.

I can't bring myself to believe that this is a cut and dried, "I've had enough, I'm off"... which is how Barrett is spinning it. I can believe that he's had a hissy fit over us not signing anyone of note this window. I can also believe he's been offered a HUGE amount of money to go and play for Chelsea. Hopefully signing Suarez might allow him to reconsider. Either way he's gonna get a large pay increase. I don't believe He'd go to Chelsea on the premise that he'd win things things there over the next 3/4 years. He surely knows like everyone that the team there is in decline in performance and age, something which isn't a quick fix, even with Ancelotti and a bucketload of cash.

Right then.... I put £25 on Hodgson being "the next manager to leave" at 3/1 on the 20/10/2010. Before Hughton and Alardyce were sacked. This was matched - I have since successfully withdrawn £175 in winnings from my account. Either that's a bank error in my favour, or they've paid out on the wording of the bet, ie, the other two were sacked, and Hodgson "left" by mutual consent. So thanks Alias.
