yep, I agree. I really thought we had found one, but there's no way if he'd played like he has over the last year or so I'd be thinking that if he'd come into the team now. He used to play with some simple clarity and was proactive but has become more reactive and last ditch. Maybe his decline has coincided with his Dad's death and of course the frustration with injuries.

Yeah I thought it was a pen and thought "oh, they're not gonna overturn it" when I saw the replay. I must say though, after watching the replay a few times there's no way it should be given. I think the ref gives it cos he thinks he's been whacked in the face and VAR lets it go cos the ref's given it. They just checked for actual contact He should have been sent to the monitor to check he saw what he thinks he saw rather than the player conning him.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool - Premier League, 27th September @ 3pm
Billy Talbot replied to ynwa.tv 's topic in Liverpool FC
Nah, it was bad. Probably our worst performance in, I dunno 50 or 100 games... and the 1st half was much worse than the 2nd. But... https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/matches/liverpool-vs-crystal-palace/2tmp8g#4813428:tab=stats In the first half they hit the post and Ali pulled off one proper world class save and a couple of other decent ones. They had 4 shots on target and an XG of just over 2. They scored a ****y goal from a corner that shouldn't have been given and with an assist from Gravenberch. We'd have been unlucky to have been 3 down never mind 6. We were much better than them in the 2nd half but huffed and puffed. Equalised and then they scored another ****y goal from a long throw that was borderline offside. Ended with them having an xg of just under 3 and us just over 2. Bad day at the office and they deserved to win but could have easily have ended 2-1 to us. Worth remembering that Henderson pulled off a couple of great saves too. Of course the story is the Palace could have t****** us and then beat us with a last minute deserved winner. They're good at the moment and we we're **** but feel aggrieved the way it panned out. -

Very close to it but he's being pulled all over the shop whilst airborne. it could only have been the slightest of touches and could not have ever been deemed deliberate. -

Absolutely horrible performance that we deserved nothing from but yeah, that being onside at the end was a joke. Them trying to find a way to rule out Chiesa's goal was also laughable. Their first was from a corner that wasn't a corner and Kamada could have easily had 4 yellow cards not 1. -
I’ll be fine with it if we beat palace. so long as he doesn’t do it again.
-
31pts from 31 games since he took charge. Long may it continue or get worse.

Tents are great if you have the right gear and know what you’re doing. Though I see lots of people camping at festivals who don’t and when it rains they sometimes get wet and then don’t get dry.
-
Yeah sorry. I’d had a few beers. Made sense then The Lion Sleeps tonight

Yeah, but fees are logarithmic not linear and also contextual. They can't be saying we sold TAA for £10m for his last month so therefore we want £60m for Guehi's last six. I think we should tell him and them we're going to offer £20m on the first day of the next window so get your ducks in a row. Get it done. If we wait until June there will be all sorts of ****s creeping around and the foreign clubs will have 6 months of free run at him.

I hope they get relegated.

https://www.football365.com/news/newcastle-decision-absolute-upper-wissa-limit-another-twist-transfer-risks-collapse Seems like there's a lot of it about. £35m with add-ons up to £40. Newcastle are so up themselves. They'll only pay that 'cos they see Wissa as a replacement for Wilson. Whoopedoo Newcastle. Howsabout bidding on a replacement for Isak whilst you're at it?
-
I think we should be looking at Isak and another forward anyway. Maybe we're waiting to see an outcome next week from the Isak fiasco to decide who is the other one and how much we spend.
-
yeah next step is the transfer request. Then our bid of £105m.
-
There's also the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Webster_ruling That's essentially been banjaxed by a gentleman's agreement between clubs to not sign players that take advantage of it.
-
Yeah I said this to a few Newcastle fans in the football thread of a non-football forum and it was met with blank stares. It was like they hadn't even contemplated that or knew how to compute the concept. I also pointed out that every new signing and every renewal will have agents being determined to put release clauses in and low ones at that. They've massively damaged their prospects of squad improvement for the foreseeable future. They replied along the lines of "well we can't let him go without replacements.". Proper Catch 22 madness.

A bit over-eager and a bit disappointing but that's sorta okay. He's young and will improve. Our defending in general looks (both last night and in pre-season) a bit haphazard at the moment. I'm hoping having Grav back next match will help.
-
Yeah, I think they'll have to sign at least one. Somebody. Anybody.

That got loads worse after Jones and Ekiitike went off and Palace pressed higher. We went from having loads of room in our half to breathe to having barely any and that's where their equaliser came from. Pretty unfortunate really cos I think If we have ridden it out for another 5 mins they'd had run out of puff too.
