I think Jurgen was great at making them feel ten feet tall. I don't necessarily think many of them were all that good. We aren't really producing lads who go on and have top level careers anywhere and we haven't done for ages. Alexander-Arnold the last with us. Harry Wilson has had a decent career I suppose.

I'm not really sure of the point of this thought experiment other than for people who have only recently conceded he should probably be sacked feeling they have the moral one-up-manship of setting out that they actually still don't want him sacked if he produces the highly implausible z/y/z or maybe even if he just damage-limits sufficiently to get us CL and so those who still feel he isn't turning it's round cos we beat Newcastle are bad people who won't now give him a fair chance or something. I'll chenge my mind if when stuff happens to change my mind, I don't have to set out in advance what that is cos I don't know and/or the stuff that would likely me believe again seems so far away and so phenomenally unlikely to be achieved that I can't really be arsed thinking about it.

Ah come on man. No funnier then us losing last week for the first time since he last started a league game if we're doing this. That was more correlation than causation but I reckon the last couple of games are too. 10 goals, 2 involvements for Mo. Same as MacAllister. Fewer than Wirtz, Ekitike and, bizarrely, Van Dijk. He's in everyone's conversation for our best ever but he's in brutal form. Terminal decline? Feels disrespectful to call it that but it's going to add up to the same thing. We have to either build around him or use him less/start to move on and there's good reasons emerging now to do the latter. I think we all expected him to be really good for a few more years given how well he looks after himself but he's struggling to impose himself physically. Losing 40 yard foot races maybe isn't surprising but the diminishing returns in the close quarters stuff is.
