I've got no problem with it. The referee applied the laws of the game correctly. It is literally all he is there to do. Them thinking that they are smart enough to do otherwise in order to preserve the spectacle or whatever is where the problems really start.

He couldn't get rid of Quansah and Elliott quick enough. He refuses to pick Endo. He could use Robbo more, even at right back in the current circumstances. All of them perfectly serviceable squad players. I'll give him a pass on Chiesa cos I don't think he's close to good enough any more. That's before you even get onto his seeming complete inability to harness young players in any meaningful way.
