Sion Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) Easily to overlook the monumental achievement we've pulled off this season to go from 7th to definitely being in the group stages of next year's CL. Our prospective opponents list is starting to take shape nicely. Unless there's a shock in the qualifiers then we will get one of: Real Madrid FC Barcelona Bayern Munich Benfica Atlético Madrid Porto Then one of: Schalke 04DortmundBaselJuventusPSGLeverkusenOlympiakos Then pot 4 will probably have the likes of:MonacoBilbaoRomaStandard Liege A group of Atletico, Dortmund, Roma would be nice for the aways. Bit better than Young Boys and SC Braga Draw date is 28th August Edited May 11, 2014 by Sion
Tommy Cockles Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Planning to have my football mates mini stag-do at a CL game so ideally hoping for one in the Low Countries/Germany. Not a fan of Madrid/Barcelona or Portugal & Italy/Eastern Europe can feck off.
Billy Dane Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Just come back from a week in Aalborg. They should win their league, be good to get them in the group stages - loads of Reds fans there.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Thanks for starting this thread Sion, looking forward to it
Gunga Din Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 we will be the team in pot 3 no one wants. Real Madrid, Dortmund, us and Bilbao would be a hell of a group
Rory Fitzgerald Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) we will be the team in pot 3 no one wants. Thats the way I am looking at it - not who we can get but who does not want us Edited May 11, 2014 by Rory Fitzgerald
£440,000 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Already told work I'll need time off in the autumn. Can't wait.
growler Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 How are Dortmund still second seeds? They've done really well over last few years.
Cunny Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 we will be the team in pot 3 no one wants. Real Madrid, Dortmund, us and Bilbao would be a hell of a group RM and Bilbao cannot be in same group.
JGL Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 How are Dortmund still second seeds? They've done really well over last few years. Seedings depend on performance in europe last 5 years, they have just been great last two years really.
schmuckdonald Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Give us all the hard teams. We'll f***ing batter them.
Candystore Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 (edited) To get you all on the mood for the CL Sky Sports are showing the 2005 Final on Sky Sports 1 now. Edited May 20, 2014 by Candystore

Sion Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Shame we can't get Ajax. Potential for some real groups of death there. e.g. Barcelona, Liverpool, Dortmund, Monacoor Real Madrid City, Napoli, Roma

Case Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 The way I look at it is this. Some poor sods in Pot1 are going to get us instead of Sporting fecking Lisbon. Bring it on.
Gethin Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Bit better than Young Boys and SC Braga Not up for a bit of Young Boys w***dorf action then?
