Henderson

Suarez

Sterling

Allen unlucky to miss out

1.Suarez

2.Skrtel (brilliant apart from the first City goal)

3.Sterling

can't think of someone who played worse than skrtel (not counting subs)

Mingolet, Johnson, Sakho, Coutinho

mignolet & johnson are candidates, but:

sakho had an excellent game, bar two consecutive dodgy passes

coutinho - scored the goal that might have been the winner and skrtel not fecked up, was part of our best move as well

Who missed a sitter as part of our best move. Skrtel made a couple of excellent challenges on Negredo and while his flaws are all too obvious we shouldn't have them blind us to what he did well.

Suarez

Sterling

Henderson

Skrtel made one tremendous block early on - can't remember whose shot it was, but he timed his interception very well.

Other than that, he was once again shocking. A later block was good ... but only necessary because of his original f***-up. His defending for every corner was nothing short of appalling and his inability to hold the line is embarrassing for a player of his experience. When he jumps for the ball, he can actually head it well ... so why does he repeatedly refuse to do so? He is obsessed with the player, not the ball ... he seems to have a real mental block about it, it's very strange for player of his age and experience. It was an exception last night when he did actually manage to leave the ground and challenge for a header at one corner ... he didn't get the ball but it was mildly better than his usual all too predictable man-handling.

He is supposed to be the senior partner in central defence, but I feel for Sakho being partnered with him. He (Sakho) is a young lad settling into a new country/club and he should be concentrating 100% on his own game ... seems to me that he is also having to worry about his CB partner. He's good enough to do it, I think, but it should be the other way round with Skrtel helping his new partner settle into the system.

His continued selection just proves that Rodgers is not (quite) perfect!!

There's a danger that we're under-appreciating Suarez here, didnt score but held the ball up well, won free kicks, was at the centre of our counter attacks and was unlucky not to have 3 assists.

Agreed - I thought he had another great game.
