Boycott on FA sponsors

Right, enough if enough. If the club are willing to just sit back and take it up the a***, doesn't mean us fans have to.

I touched on this in the Luis thread, but that was before they announced the ban.

Here is a list of their current sponsors:

Lead Partner – Vauxhall

Supporters: Umbro and Mars

Suppliers: Carlsberg, Lucozade, Nivea and Marks and Spencer

The FA Cup

Lead Partner – Budweiser

Supporters: Umbro

Development Areas

Men’s Football Partner - Carlsberg

Small-sided Football Partner - Umbro

Community Partner - McDonald’s

Adult Football Partner - Mars

FA Skills Partner - Tesco

It's simple folks. Just don't buy or use any of the above. Yes and that includes Nivea. :D

If you do buy/use any of the above, just switch to the competitor. ;)

Can someone please get this started on other LFC forums. Lets hit these c**ts where it hurts.

I'm all for this - but I wonder if despite the anger - people are generally too apathetic. The thing is, it wouldn't even need to be a case of not using / buying - if enough fans actually communicated to these companies that they're going to stop using them because of their sponsorship of the FA, then it might start gaining some traction (and even get some coverage/ companies getting the sort of publicity they don't want). But I'm guessing that there won't be enough people willing to get off their asses.

What's the desired outcome of this boycott?

Suarez made new chairman of the FA.

Not up for this really - boycotts should be for a proper cause like Hillsborough; although this ban was overly harsh it doesn't inspire me to boycott because what he did was ridiculous and deserved some fairly strong action.

This said if you want to do the above because of the FA involvement in Hillsborough instead then I'm all for it! They are complete idiots and in Ferguson's pocket - but I'm just concerned that if we boycott at the drop of a hat it takes away from the really important ones like the one on the rag.

Yes sorry. Should have added the desired outcome of this boycott to the OP.

This isn't just a case of just stop buying/using these. We need to let the whole world know what we're going to do, including the club, The Echo.

So on all LFC sites as mentioned and on all social media sites too. Exposure will hopefully lead to this being covered in actual media and news channels.

In terms of communication with sponsors, don't know if we do this individually or collectively. Don't think SOS will get involved with this, so maybe e-mail bombardment of the top bods at these companies as we did in trying to get rid of Gillett and Hicks.

I've been boycotting Umbro for the last 15 yes so I'm all for it, despicable brands most of them

Agreed.

I'm currently boycotting all the ones I don't like, with real conviction. Don't think my wife would allow me to boycott both Marks and Tesco to be honest.

I'm in the same boat with Tesco and Marks as me and the missus do our weekly shops from both, but she is cool with shopping elsewhere. ;)

There are far better reasons than this to boycott stuff like Tesco and McDonalds to be honest.

If people want this to be their tipping then sound, crack on, but I think this is for the individual to decide really rather than trying to push it as a common cause.

Yes there may be better reasons, but don't forgot most of these companies have seen a loss in profits this year.

Just an e-mail stating intent to switching to rivals because of their association with the FA will get them twitching nervously. When I boycott a product for a reason, I always let the company know.

The FA need to be hit. 80-yr-old duffers intent on upholding the outdated & unrealistic traditions of the game by punishing certain clubs based on the fact that they're not from the Home Counties or players because they're 'foreign' need to be fought back against. And that's before we look at the Manc-power angle. No-one is saying Suarez should go unpunished but do it fairly, FFS.

But in terms of boycotting companies or products I think I'm right in saying the HFSG and/or the HJC have said in the past that such action should be concentrated on The S*n as any additional such action would only lead to confusion & dilution. There's clearly an unspoken rule that this should be extended to any McKenzie employer.

So boycott the matches.

Boycott the FA Cup games. Boycott the AutoCup scheme. There's an argument that this mainly affects Liverpool FC. Good. It puts pressure on the club to actually stand up for itself instead of displaying a mist of ineptness and cowardice.

Boycott TV shows with the games (live or highlights). Boycott England games (it's a shame they still don't play on tour; an empty Anfield would be great). Let our England internationals know we don't appreciate them going off to play for their country - it happens in other European countries.

I think something very simple like not offering tickets to blazers would be enough of a start to put the spotlight on not just where they've been at but the sly tricks they are up to now in the courts. I think the support would get behind some sort of non-compliance on behalf of the club and the media would be all over the slightest thing.

I'm boycotting the auto cup. Hopefully we get drawn away every game to some no mark team with small ground capacities. A complete no show of fans at wembley would be great.

Everyman and his dog bar Fat Sam has said the ban is excessive and about the man not the player so f*** them.

Really any boycott should simply be because the FA aren't fit to rule. They're a bunch of Little Britain xenophobic Freemasons who coming up to 25 yrs later still aren't taking any responsibility for what happened at Hillsborough, are completely unrepresentative of both fans and players of the game and they govern the game in a way that defies all logic and reason.
