I think both points are correct. We need to, and I believe can, improve and yes it'd be helpful if officiating improves. We can't control the latter however and need to really press forward with what we can control. We can become stronger and I think we will..but we do need to prove it

Absolutely, improve on what we can control and stop whining about things beyond our control.

I'm looking for an immediate return to our what I think BR's beliefs are

we need to keep the ball much better

to do this, we need to move for each other with the same work ethic and belief that it's the right thing to do, all over the pitch - not slow down when we reach their area or settle for a hoof from the back - massive self belief needed from BR now. Apart from his innate ability, self belief is his best weapon (it sure as hell isn't off-field support of any description)

It's a game we should win. I'd be tempted to go three at the back. Regardless I'd start Gerrard where Suso has been. I'd probably also rest Sahin. Manager has a lot of options.

My worry is the teams we put out for the Angie/Chelsea double header next week. We put out a sh*t team in Russia and we will get beat. Then again, we play full strength and we will look leggy at Chelsea on Sunday. Tough calls these for BR.
