Argentina have a must win game at Paraguay and Brazil play Chile........THURSDAY!!

Surely Masch will play and I know Lucas is with the squad isn't he? Not sure on Insua. Brazil have qualified, so is it likely Lucas will get a run out? In any case, it's not likely Rafa will play them against Burnley if they don't even leave for home that late in the week.

we can go Gerrard and Plessis/Spearing in CM with Riera and Babel/Benayoun wide and Torres and Kuyt up front

and win 5-0

September 9 is a Wednesday.

16:00 Bolivia ? - ? Ecuador

18:00 Uruguay ? - ? Colombia

20:00 Paraguay ? - ? Argentina

22:00 Brazil ? - ? Chile

22:00 Venezuela ? - ? Peru

Argentina kick off at 6pm over here, so that will be midnight in the UK. they'll be travelling on the Thursday. Brazil kick off at 8pm here, 2am in the UK.

Pretty crappy timing.

could be a big problem, personally I think Rafa will play 1 of them with Gerrard in a 442 as long as Gerrard comes through the England game unscathed.

The only other option is Aurelio is meant to be fit again but I'd have thought it'd be a big risk to throw him in there first game back

It is a problem. Whenever Mascherano makes these long journeys for double Argentina fixtures, he seems to come back knackered.

I might just walk out if Plessis starts.

Someone, somewhere, is advocating getting "Big Damo" in on a free to terrorise the oppo midfield.

Agree about Wed Sat. One question though, are we more concerned about not playing players after long journeys than other teams?

Don't know. I think it would be less of a concern though if the squad was stronger. Lucas and Masch have played in all our games so far. I would not like to see Spearing and Plessis replacing them, one of them would be ok but not the two of them.

they should combine the august, september and october internationals into a 4 week break, and play 5-6 games in that time. would give everyone something to look forward to and allow the teams to gel and bond ahead of the major tournament next summer.

As for the game, I reckon Spearing may get a run out, which would be good. I think we have a european game during the week, and away to the hammers the weekend after, another midweek game and then home to hull so squad management required in the coming few weeks.

When you sign players from far foreign lands you have to live with this.

Chelsea will suffer with the African Nations Cup more than us in Jan as well, managers know these things when signing players. We have to live with it.

I think Paraguay is 3/4 hours behind and Brazil 3. But I guess they will still be travelling Thursday. Indeed unless they are travelling by private jet I would imagine they won't actually land at Heathrow until 7am on Friday.

I dont think we bother with private jet and basically write them off. I know City have flown Robinho back at extra cost to play the Sat, think Utd did similar with Tevez

seeing as they are paying, we should just get our lands to hitch a ride.

Aurelio CM, sorted.

I saw Aurelio yesterday morning (his kids go to the same school as mine). I can confirm that I could tell by the fit and fearless way he got out of his car and then walked his boy to the school gate that he is 100% ready for the Burnley game.

Hope you gave the kid abuse! It's his fault he was injured in the first place ;-)

Little sod was getting under Fabio's feet even as he was being droped at school

. For the sake if his career I think Aurelio's going to have to let that kid go .
