Walrus Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 There's not a single fixture left in the league, which we lost last season. So time for a 37 game unbeaten run then?
schmuckdonald Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Ryan Babel's music career will mean he can lend us a few quid to sign some players. Sotirios Kyrgiakos looks f*cking hard. Alberto Aquilani looks immense.
JGL Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Was just about to make a cheeky comment about Boro, glad I didn't. We have the best manager, keeper, midfielder and striker in the league.
stressederic Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 We've not been dicked 6-1 at home yet. The use of the word 'yet' in that statement kind of robs it of optimism.
psl Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 The use of the word 'yet' in that statement kind of robs it of optimism. Beattie hat trick, 2 for Fuller and 1 for Shawcross. Consolation from Lucas.
Magic8Ball Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Slip sliding away .... slip sliding away ay ay ay you know the nearer the premier league title, more we're slip sliding away
Nebraska Red Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 it was the first game and we can only get better.
Stevie H Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 i've just had a f***ing excellent cup of coffee.
growler Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 blimey, 90 minutes into the season and we need an optimism thread! Imagine the mancs, with 65mil profit over summer, replacing Tevez and Ronaldo with Owen and Valencia and nothing else. Also paying 30mil for Berba. and the price increases they have had over the last 3 years.

Imagine the mancs, with 65mil profit over summer, replacing Tevez and Ronaldo with Owen and Valencia and nothing else. Walrus Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 But seriously, it's quite a stat that should we play like we did last season, we'd not lose once during the rest of the season. (unless you replace Boro away with Brum away or something) We'll win the bloody World Cup thinking like this!
Falconhoof Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Slip sliding away .... slip sliding away ay ay ay you know the nearer the premier league title, more we're slip sliding away I'm imagining that as the soundtrack to the mystery guest round on A Question Of Sport. Phil Tufnell spots the pony tail and thinks its a female swimmer.

(unless you replace Boro away with Brum away or something) We'll win the bloody World Cup thinking like this! well, using your logic, i'll be lumping all my money on a 0-0 tonight. woo hoo
matty Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I'm about to get treated to lunch by a large City law firm.
whitewidow Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I'm about to get treated to lunch by a large City law firm.I, in turn, have just entertained, for dinner last night, a large city law firm...
Walrus Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 well, using your logic, i'll be lumping all my money on a 0-0 tonight. woo hooSee, that's the spirit! With any luck you'll be a rich man when you go to bed tonight. Another reason to stay positive.
RedMarauder Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I, in turn, have just entertained, for dinner last night, a large city law firm... I have neither been entertained by, or have any intention of entertaining a large city law firm, but I know that Yossi Benayoun and Fernando Torres will finally unravel the Stoke enigma tonight. I know that Natalie Sawyer and Millie Clode will continue to provide visual enlightenment just by being themselves on Sky Sports News, and I know that The Great Fire of London started in a bakery on Pudding Lane.....
Billy Dane Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 My 8 year old son thinks it is "really exciting" that we are going to the first home game of the season.
smithdown Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 2 points and four goals better off than last season, no?
