Should the new owners sack Roy Hodgson with immediate effect ?
RedMarauder replied to Macedonian_Red's topic in Liverpool FC
Sack him, but only if we have a replacement to take over immediately. In the Summer it was clear they wanted Rafa out at any cost and that was the only focus, then they set about the managerial process. I think if we have some miraculous reinvention against Blackburn, and irrespective of the result, we actually for the 1st time put in a half decent performance, then the owners may give him another month, but otherwise surely he is 'dead man walking'. Sound out the Hiddinks / Pellegrinis before any sacking, or otherwise it will be Martin O Neill, and the press will praise the appointment as the next Messiah. -

When assessing someone for a job, I would have a passing interest in what they were doing 5 years ago, but of more interest would be their most recent history. What have they been doing relative to the position to be filled? How do their current skills apply to this position? What makes them superior to other candidates undertaking similar roles for competitors? If I were assessing anyone, it would add a small percentage to their suitability if they were good at this job in a completely different era, but I would be more interested in their recent capabilities in a similar era. Strip away the legendary status of Kenny Dalglish and what relevance does he have to the manager's role? What has he recently achieved? Is he still considered one of the finest managers / coaches in recent years? In all honesty, no. If there is a strong possibility of selling the club very soon, then he is a stop gap and he is a possibility. Otherwise, he qualifys by name only and not by his c.v

Rafa's record is better than Souness / Evans / Houllier; higher % of wins, higher % of points, higher league placings only season since his 1st out of Champion League (and season not finished).. The bar got set higher when Chelsea got their Russian money and whilst Man U have increased their match day revenue streams significantly to compete, Arsenal have struggled as has every one else despite spending fortunes. Rafa and Liverpool are having a s*** season, but don't change history. If you aren't aware of that you truly are the c**k!

Don't worry the next s*** game he has, everyone can come on and slag him again

Whether this particular offer comes off is debatable, but it has been evident for a while that the closer we get to July, the more pressure is applied to H & G. RBS want their debt resolved, so whether it is the Rhone Group, DIC or a.n other Billionaire, there is a great chance that we will see a great change again in the structure of the club. Whatever our likes or dislikes about owners, H & G's main obligation was to build a new stadium, as this was the only way aside from a sugar daddy for us to compete at the top level and on this obligation they have failed miserably, as well as the other lies and deceipt. If the Rhone group help to fund this new stadium then the future is brighter re. providing a competitive football club. However, i am sure there are still plenty of fans that do not want a new stadium, new owners with no love of the club, all they want is their club back. It is no surprise that the top 6 wage payers are in the top 6 positions, we were 4th, but when the latest figures are released, Man City will probably have usurped this. Are we in the camp to expand and compete or be happy with a team that punches above it's weight? Forget history, Liverpool FC has no right to win trophies and the only teams at the top tier in Europe are the richest.

Everyone needs a break from winning some time. We are Ali vs Man U's Foreman. Yeah, you are winning and looking unstoppable, but we are letting you catch up just to make it more interesting, it's 'rope-a-dope' and round 8 is just around the corner, so enjoy as we are just about to come out fighting

Laval would still beat us, the b******s

Yeah, despite it being proven all the comments about refs were true and Ferguson has since got away with further transgressions. Whilst our club is owned by a couple of goons, at least it wasn't our lauded manager whose greed over race horse spunk, caused the major purchase of Man U shares by Magnier who happily sold on his shares to the wonderful Glazers. Also funny to see all the Man Utd supporters who were sticking it to the man last night by wearing their Norwich scarves.... and their official 1st team Man Utd shirts.

In answer to the original topic ? Darlington. I feel that we have the beating of them in their current run of form and only 21 goals scored, yet 64 conceded in 32 games

I can take generally negative points, but please stop with this 'if' bulls***. We didn't lose 5-0, we won; we had the weaker team and they played better, but we won wityh no dodgy decisions. We played the same team again 2 years later and were the better team, but lost. Fair play to us, fair play to Milan. In the 2 games against Chelsea with the controversial goal, Mourinho always conveniently forgot they managed 1 shot on target over 2 games, which is hardly hanging on for your lives. As you were now, to continue the slagging of Rafa

Wasn't talking about tonight, this comment was about the whole season
