TBH, I don't watch that much Bundesliga - they almost always put on this 'Conference' in the pub where it switches between all the games, which IMO is a real pain in the *ss. And the only games I've actually been to in the last couple of years are 2nd division games.

 

Nevertheless Magath is clearly a good manager - since he's won the League with 3 (?) clubs (Stuttgart, Bayern and now Wolfsburg.

 

They and, earlier in the season, Hoffenheim seemed to have the beating of the 'traditional' clubs despite not having the supposedly best players and I suspect this may be because they are playing a more intelligent type of football rather than the idiotic leader-based type German sides seemed to be obliged to play since the days of Beckenbauer. However, I haven't really paid enough attention recently to really know that. One thing I did notice yesterday was that 4-at-the-back seems to be more common than it used to be.

It has to be down to Magath and his excellent twin strikers.

 

He has only won the BL with 2 clubs, John, Bayern (twice) and now the Wolves.

 

At least the league is competitive. 5/6 clubs have led the league from about game 10 and have all had a chance to win it.

i actually wish i'd watched some of it, but following the league table across the season has been really interesting. ditto france this season as it goes. it's interesting that the decline of those two countries' clubs' performances in the champions league has meant an increase in the competition of their domestic leagues.

 

magath will try to take a few of the wolfsburg players with him to schalke then will he?
