Flight Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Normally I am magnanimous in defeat. After last weeks 1-3 I went on a number of forums and congratulated them. Tonight, they should be ashamed and embarrassed of themselves. Hiddink had very obviously looked at the referee and told his players to dive at every opportunity as soon as there was any contact; that was their whole strategy. I hope Barca rip them to pieces.
gns Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 They came back from 2 down, I dont think they will be ashamed in any way.

chrisbonnie Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 im the same as you, last week, to be fair to them, they where outstanding, this week, they where everything that is wrong with football, diving, play acting, time wasting, just a f***ing disgrace the ref didnt help, there was loads of unseen fouls, Alexs first goal was a blatant dive by Drogba, who must have spent more than 30 minutes on the deck, and yet again, unpunished for his diving, then Lampards first goal, there was afoul on Alonso, again, play allowed to go on then the shambolic, and in my opinion, something that should be investigated is the 3 minutes of injury time, there was 6 goals, and 5 substituions, plus, Drogba was on the ground for 1 and a half minutes of that extra time, no one can honestly tell me that ref was unbiased, i honestly reckon thats got a touch of the Juventus about it im heart broken, i wont deny it, but i thought we where fantastic, and the players did themselves, and all the fans proud YNWA!!

Shocking performance from that referee. f***ing proud of our lads though, on the field and in the stands.

surf Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Great performance from our lads. We did what we needed to do in the first half and set ourselves up brilliantly for the second. Second half was poor, couple of individual mistakes let them back into the game. Thought the ref was atrocious in the first 20 minutes of the half giving them everything. This completely stole our momentum and handed it back to Chelsea. Proud of our lads and proud of the performance. Two negatives:Dorgba is SUCH a c***. Cheat of a player, always diving, always on the floor. Disgrace.Chelsea fans with their plastic flags and booing the team can feck off as well.

Now have a week to recover and plan for the Arsenal game, Arsenal are on CL duty tomorrow and have a FA Cup game at the weekend against Chelsea. Must keep our focus and keep going, we can win this, first time this season I have REALLY believed we can do it.
DonRafa Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Sack Rafa! He's been here 5 years and he's still sh!te at getting 'Fergie' (puke) time! Sack the board too! We're obviously not giving the refs enough moola - we need bigger brown envelopes!
whitewidow Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 (edited) we played well and forced an imposing evening to become an inspirational evening for the club and our fans, the fans of the team who went out. however, excluding the antics of some players, chelsea did well to drag that back when the momentum was with us. onwards and upwards, could be the spur we need to now make the league happen. Paisley Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 It's not always about winning - feel very proud of our team for coming back from the dead not once but twice, and nearly getting a win without resorting to diving, gamesmanship, pressurising the referee etc like some teams we can all name would. As always proud of our fans too, cheering the team on all the way through and cheering them off at the end. Feel very honoured to be a supporter of this great club.

Zoob Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Proud of our players and supporters. Drogba - makes Ronaldo look honest. And the Ref - a stronger ref would not have given Chelsea absolutely every single decision after awarding us a justified pen. Would not have fallen for every single Drogba dive, and most certainly would have added more than 3 minutes after a second half with 6 goals 4 substitutions and probably 3 minutes of Drogba on the floor time.
RP Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 what the hell are you on about you nutter?! That's the funny thing - you always pretend you don't know what people are on about.

Bootle Buck Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I still can't see the "They were magnificent last week" sentiments. Realistically if we would have played our normal game after going a goal up won that tie handily. Tonight they were played off the pask in the first half again and were lucky not to be 3-0 down. We gave them a silly goal to get back into it then we once again looked ragged. Apart from that we were the better team in the two games who unfortunately fell asleep at times. Torres did nothing in two legs and Stevie was injured in both yet we still looked better. I personally wouldn't play Carra against Drogba again. It's like watching him v Terry all over again.
