would obviously rather be playing the away leg first but that's the way the bent uefa cookie crumbles. mascherano being out my not be the worst thing in the world as it may make us go onto the front foot that bit more and do a madrid on them, get at them right from the off and look for that first goal. one or two for us and a clean sheet would be absolutely lovely, as would no additional suspensions for the second leg.

 

droba's still struggling for them i think which would be a bonus, what's our word on aurelio? not that i think anyone would mind insua deputising if he's still out. otherwise we're at pretty much full compliment aren't we?

The 2 main options would seem to be Lucas in place of Masch and Gerrard forward or play Kuyt alongside Torres. I'd probably go for the latter as i think Chelsea's midfield would over run Lucas.

Fabio's fit, Rafa just, rightly, didn't want to be left with just the Doss for Chelsea. At least if Fabio gets injured this time we don't have a ginger bellend waiting in the wings to f*** things up

I know this is the last stagesof the so-called 'Champions' League - but although I'm going on Wednesday can't really get into the mood for this game.

 

Just bored stiff of playing bloody Chelsea.

onwards and upwards, though i know what andy means. same f***ing blue shirts, same c*** lampard attempting to injure alonso, same f***ing drogba going down like a sapling while built like an oak. . . .hope we go at them like we did madrid and just batter the c****. think their defence and midfield are built of a bit sterner stuff than madrid's though.

This week we've had Terry talking to the press about Gerrard and Lampard talking about Xabi. They are preparing mentally to give this tie everything.

I just hope we can summon up the same intensity while having an eye on a series of must win league games.

They won't be writing themselves out of the title race yet either. remember, so I don't think anyone has the edge there really.

 

Totally agree about the feeling of 'These c**** again...' but I'm sure that come Wednedsay night, and with a couple of beers in me, I'll be suitably up for it.

lampard's also said something about how winning away at newcastle on saturday was a dress rehearsal for how to quieten the anfield crowd down.

i m just looking forward to all the league matches...it's the Mancs that shipping goals now, one these days, they ain't gonna get the kind of winner(s) they got yesterday...

Was there a problem with Aurelio's fitness? I thought he was fine, but Insua played because he's not registered for europe (in order to keep Fabio completely fresh).

I'm in the 'not that bothered' gang atm as I still have my league head on, once wednesday comes I'll be up for this game. had to laugh at Ferguson trying to add more pressure onto us and Chelsea yesterday, its great seeing the g******* rattled

i am very bothered and up for it myself just hate this crap they are coming out with off being scared of us. Reverse phychology or what just hope we dont take our eye off the ball but just cant see it. We were fantastic sat at closing fulham down and hope we will be the same against chelsea. Would just love it if we could put 4 or 5 past them but would take 2 0 on the night.
