Got to be the single most arrogant, dillusional, insane and drunken thing I have ever heard from a manager after what happened yesterday. If the press had any b****x, they'd hang him up to dry for those comments, puts Rafa's 'facts' 'rant' to shame.

"It is a hard one to take because I thought we were the better team and the score does not reflect that," he [slur] said.

He's cracking up!

Talking of deluded comments, just briefly switched onto Sunday Supplement and they were talking about Liverpool and the respective squads (and as an aside they were generally very positive about us as a club and Benitez as a manager). But then someone, don't know who he was, came out with the corker that "the big difference is that Utd's fringe players like Fletcher would get in the Liverpool team..."

Lol, made me choke on my croissant when he said it!

I think to be serious that Fergie's attitude has always been to tell his team that they are the best, whatever the outcome. I guess you could argue that for him to say "the best team won" could be regarded as an admission that we are a better team and that could have a longer-term negative impact on his players. I can't remember Rafa ever saying that "we were beaten by the better side".

I suspect that privately he would acknowledge our superiority, ON THE DAY but it can't be good to say that publicly to his players and fans.

I'm surprised Fletcher gets in the Manc team.

Utterly abjectly useless.

The only players I can't think of worse than him are Rio Ferdinand, O'Shea and Berbatov.

I agree with that

Obviously, but the point is that all managers do that, including Rafa as you point out.

The difference is, had Rafa come out and said that then, regardless of the fact that he'd have been doing the same thing (i.e. backing his players in public) he'd have got the kicking to end all kickings on here and in the press.

When that blotchy faced c*** (and seriously, 'Fergie'? What the f*** is with that?) does it then we just get told by all and sundry that it is another example of how much of a psychological genius he is.

b******s to that, I know exactly why he said what he said but it isn't for one moment going to stop me ridiculing him for it or from drawing attention to how laughable it sounds.

I just noticed that Mike Riley is there refereeing today's game at Stamford Bridge. I bet Ferguson would have loved to have had Riley at Old Trafford and would the key decisions still have been the same ?

We've been forced to take some shocking decisions at Old Trafford by refs. Had the penalty not been given to Gerrard or Vidic not been sent off then it would have been merely typical.

I'm intrigued by the fact 'Rafa's rant' hasn't cropped up in the press when, pre game, he was being pilloried for it. Its unheard of to get a penalty on their turf, let alone a sending off for one of their players aswell. Maybe Rafa should receive some acknowledgement for sharpening the focus of referees at Old Trafford.

That's because Mike Riley is hopeless.

He's not bent, he's just a f***ing awful referee.

'awful' can include things like 'easily influenced by a ranting Ferguson and his cadre of very important England international mouthpieces' or 'has bought into the prevailing belief that Man U will win'

Its all academic but I really couldn't see Riley giving us a pen there or sending Vidic off. He'd have given Vidic a yellow probably.

Agree in general, although Riley was the ref when we won there in 2004 with the Murphy penalty.

And to be honest Pete, that's something that Shanks would do. He was the eternal optimist.
