Major f*** up when we went 2 on 1 and he decided to award Chelsea a freekick and gave Gerrard a yellow.

 

Also think he should've sent off Cashley Cole but he bottled it and booked Mascherano instead.

 

We outplayed them but the ref kept 'em in it.

He's the only ref in this league I like but it felt like a lot of the 50/50's went their way in the first half and that decision against Gerrard was a disgrace. Cole should of walked in the 2nd half and Mikel went unpunished for acting a t***. We've had worse but i'd be furious with him if we'd ended up drawing that.

I gave him a 4. Given the circumstances, we couldn't have asked for much more. Cashley should have walked though - that whole incident in general was ridiculous. I expect Terry being sent off for asking for fouls/cards next week by that standard.

Thought it was one of the better reffing performances I've seen in a while to be honest.

In a game like this there is always going to be difficult situations to get 100% right.

Terrible first half, but evened it up a bit second half. Decision on the Gerrard yellow was as bad as reffing gets.

Saw the match report on setanta sport news, they showed our goal, and then the 4-5 half chances that chelsea had ( didn't show any of our other chances, not even Xabi's free kick!), and Terry's elbow on Reina was apparently "Reina flapping at a cross!!

Not sure about Gerrard although Henry Winter thought it was a great tackle. Cole should have been sent off and if they are going to keep picking on Masch for complaining then they better start picking on Terry,Cole , Rooney and co. I would give him 3.

Not pointed particularly at Howard Webb, but its apparent that the ref's have been told not to allow tackles that look even a bit dodgy. Gerrard got the ball clean yesterday and got booked for going to ground. Remember a couple of incidents in the Wigan game where players from both sides were penalised for 'tackling' even if they got the ball first.

Its shameful.

should have booked Cole. Didn't mind the Mascherano booking but Webb should have stuck to his guns and booked Cole.

It "appears" alright Masch if you want a yellow here it is and btw just for that i'm not booking Cole i'm booking you instead.

 

 

I also think the referees Union has Mascheranos card booked before he even starts the match. Any dissent and they all will book him. Webb just showed him that Sunday. Hopefully he learns and Rafa, Gerrard , or Carragher explains it to him.
