Good win tonight. Thought the Ref had a howler. Sending off was more than harsh and you should have had a penalty, but these things evened out imo.

Question is how does/should your manager play the away leg?

Should he go for the away goal or will he set up for a cautious approach and defend the two goal lead?

From what I have seen of Liverpool when they needed to score, they have always done well and got the results in Europe. The problem with Benitez I feel is that he has in the past been a bit cautious and that may see you in trouble in this away leg.

Opinions?

we'll play the same formation as tonight, sit back and hit them on the break.

Dependaing on form in the next 3 weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa plays the same team but Alonso may come in for Lucas, this would give the defence a bit more protection. Alonso's 'calm' head could be crucial.

While I agree with that, I think we have seen evidence over the past few weeks that Lucas has that calming bit in him too.

I like the way Lucas comes back looking for the ball off Carra and Sami. He's so positive in getting the team going foward

I have no problem with Lucas but experience could be vital as well. Having said that Alonso needs to play better than he has recently to get in the team.

Pennant, I wouldn't start with him, he is too hot headed at times, we don't want a niggly game with bookings all over the place.

i'd put Alonso in for Kuyt, leave Torres up on his own with Gerrard allowed to play anywhere he wants.

do we start with Babel? he does not hold onto the ball so well and is not much of a defending midfielder.

maybe Kuyt for Babel as Kuyt has a better work rate.

maybe Agger will be fit, maybe Skirtel, who knows?

What he said.

Crouch gave their defense a bit of a headache when he came on, but I'd stick with Kuyt's greater work-rate for the reurn.

For me, I'd have a defensive side with two rapid players up front. They HAVE to come at us if they want to get anything from the game and if we get just one goal, we are all but certain victors.

-------------------------HRH The Queen------------------------

Arbeloa-------------Carra------------SH/DA/MS-----------Riise

Gerrard------------Mascherano------XA/LL---------------Aurelio

--------------------Babel-------------Torres

Site back and hit on the break. Ged style.

The 4 midfielders and 4 defenders don't really matter to me, more the two front men.

Tactics:

---------------------------Reina-----------------------------

------------------------Mascherano-------------------------

Rest everyone else. That ought to do it...

Souness last night on the TV said it was a classic European game in England where the English team asks the continental team to do everthing 2 seconds/2 yards quicker and the European team is not able to as they don't play like that

he also reckoned it would be difficult for Inter as Italian teams are set up to counter attack and not to come looking for goals, that's why Italian football can be difficult to watch

We won't be able to impose our tempo over there and they just need to score one to make us nervous

Interesting but I would have taken 2-0 before the game

Obviously not as good as 0-0 but nearly as good

Their number 5 and their number 8 should both have walked.

I think we should play this formation at Inter:

10

gosh, where does he get such clever insights? I had no idea of how Italian teams typically play.

4 5 1 is a good shout

The wide players would have to work hard getting up supporting Torres but they are afraid of him. Calm/wise heads. Deffo a game for Didi...

My big fear is getting involved with Inter. They'll try everything - fans included - and calm heads are needed. Look how the Porto game ended last year
