Always thought he was a cracking little player myself, looks like he is on his way to portsmouth

Better than Kuyt IMO

I remember the champions league run, he was probably the most important player for us over all the rounds as he played on his own in every game up front. Against Juventus at home he ran them ragged

Could be absolutely outstanding on his day.... Problem was his day didnt happen enough. I would have liked to see rafa take him under his wing and develop his game a bit instead of spending £10 on a defensive midfielder to play up front like he did with kuyt

The really, really good or really, really promising players have games where the are simply unplayable, baros had several of them which proved he could have been a cracker IMO

He was very limited.

Hope he does well tonight though

He was poor and very frustrating more often than he was good. Unable to follow basic tactical instructions if rumours are to be believed also. A good deal at the price we got for him as borne out by his career since he left us.

Yea? Not the little bloke who came from Sunny Spain and scored all the goals?

baros was a crap good player. kuyt is a good crap player. you take your pick. id rather have neither.

It's a tricky decision, that much is clear

He's only really done it for his national team, just never done it for any sustained period of league football. I hope he runs riot for Pompey, maybe he needs his ring licked.

Revisionism of the most tedious kind.

Baros was gash.

Millllllaaaaaannnn Barrrrrooooos, score a little goal for me

And he's going to win throws, throws, throws

play jan koller up alongside him and he scores bundles. ergo baros and crouch would have been brilliant together.

Aye, stands to reason like.

Luis Garcia was easily our most important player across our Champions League campaign.
